So, I saw another post where someone basically inquired as to whether or not there would be any February event, since Crimson Doubles has been confirmed as not returning. I then saw a funny reply telling the OP that the "event" is tomorrow's patch, which he referred to as The Nerfing.
I'd like to officially propose "The Nerfening" as a name instead. I feel like the extra syllable adds a little inexplicable pizzazz. It also harkens back to The Dawning a bit more in sound. And as Bungie's patches/balances are typically rather nonsensical (read: illogical), it works to use a nonsensical word.
But check it out, fellow Guardians. What I'm proposing here is more than just a funny name. If we, as a community, can (nearly) universally agree on "The Nerfening" as a name, we'll be truly united in something. Maybe for the first time ever. And for those who, like me, enjoy a little irony sprinkled on their breakfast, we'll be uniting over a name for something that is the cause of a lot of divisiveness. Cool, right?
So yeah. The Nerfening. Let's do this. Don't come in here and troll just for the sake of trolling. Don't try and one-up my name and litter the thread with other name suggestions. Just give me a chance here and follow me. Let's get this trending. The next time a Bungie employee talks about this patch, I want them to accidentally call it The Nerfening.
TL;DR: Read it anyway. I made some really good points. Come on. You got nothing better to do. It'll only take you a couple of minutes.
#TheNerfening
EDIT: I can't even continue the satire. It's not funny now. So many things just got broken. All 3 Warlock subclasses are gimped now. My favorite Hunter class is even more gimped than we anticipated. Even Titans are going to feel the sting thanks to the universal regen fiasco. I know people say all the time they're quitting or uninstalling or whatever, but I've never personally felt more kindred to that than I do right now. My clan peeps were all discussing getting ESO together (some of them already play) to have something else we can all play together. We may end up just fully migrating to that.
