I work at a local store while going to college. Last night, after a long day with multiple morning classes and a long 8 hour shift, I was leaving the store to go home. Mind you, this is at a little after midnight.
Anyways, I was walking out of the store, and to my car. I immediately noticed the street lights leading up to my car were out, and I hoped my car hadn't been broken into.
On my way over, I thought I could see a man on my left, ducking behind a car. I told myself it was just a shadow that looked like a man. Anyways, that made me nervous enough to quicken my trip to my car, as I always conceal a handgun in there for protection.
I was almost there when that "shadow" of a man crept up behind me. Before I knew it, he was pointing a gun to my head. My first thought was just "-blam!-. I was almost to my car"
Anyways, he asked me to give him all my money or he'd shoot. I figured I could try to fight him, but without any weapon and with a gun to my head, I thought twice. As I handed him my wallet, I considered shouting for help.
The man sighed, sounding noticably nervous, while still holding his gun.
He started walking away and I turned around. He still had his gun pointed at me. I raised my hands and asked him,
"Why are you doing this to me?! Why are you doing this to yourself?!"
He looked at me and said,
Well, there ain't no rest for the wicked, money don't grow on trees
I got bills to pay I got mouths to feed ain't nothing in this world for free
I know I can't slow down
I can't hold back though you know I wish I could oh no there ain't no rest for the wicked
Until we close our eyes for good
And with that, he ran away before I could go to my car and shoot that -blam!-er.
