So with the news special will be gone after death has broken, the question is why do sidearms retain their ammo?
Before anyone says "shut up you shotgun warrior troglodyte" (check my top kills) I'm just a little perplexed as to why sidearms retain ammo. They're quite strong close quarters and even now people are jumping up and spamming sidearms. Just a little food for thought and I'd like to hear constructive feedback as to why they should be allowed.

I think sidearms remain the least used special and there's no real way to make them as effective as the big three. They simply don't have the same stopping power-- bang for your buck, so to speak. Also, over the years, people have bitched relentlessly about shotguns, snipers and fusions being OP. I've never seen anything about sidearms in my time on these forums. Looks like they're just trying to incentivize more individuals to pick up sidearms.

Because of their built in perk. Respawn with special. Check dreggs promise for what it is called.

Because as the name implies, it's a sidearm. Sidearms are a backup plan, and have always been used as one. Now if after the update Bungie sees people having used them as primaries, it'll likely be adjusted. I don't see that as being a likely possibility though. They take a fair amount of skill to use well, their range is very well-designed, there is no such thing as an overpowered sidearm, and in the same range they have to compete with hand cannons which are superior.

Edited by dog_eye14: 2/9/2017 6:37:45 AMSide Arms can't OHK like Fusions, Snipers or Shotguns can. Can't really camp with them either and you only re-spawn with enough ammo to kill maybe two guardians if you're accurate with your aiming.
