I'm creating this more as a sanity check. And most of my comments refer to PvP play.
I'm no slouch when it comes to destiny, I've paid my dues in hours played and lost count of the number of characters I've taken all the way to 40, all the way through the crucible quest lines, etc.
But since the major update late last year, where lots of adjustments were made and then the Iron Banner came out with the clever dragon and all the other dragons something seems to have happened to my Bad JuJu and MIDA - now their bullets just seem to bounce off?
Once upon a time, I could get a kill with maybe three rounds or less of my MIDA in crucible - I'm now averaging 5-6, meanwhile I'm getting shredded by a single burst from a clever dragon while on full health and full shield? And I've noticed a reduced effectiveness of the Bad JuJu as well.
And before I get all the 'maybe you just suck' sure, I'm not the best - but I'm not the worst, and I average over 60% headshot kills. Sure I have lag issues but my connection has actually improved since the update.
So is it just that these new weapons are better than these two exotics and so I'm just noticing the discrepancy? Or is it that these two weapons (which are supposed to be exotics - and by bungies own description regarding exotics - more powerful than any other in their class) have just been neglected while other weapons have been shown some love?
How is it that the MIDA (and by default all scout rifles) is getting outgunned by hand cannons (range and accuracy and impact just as good if not better), pulse rifles (accuracy, range and apparently threat ability just as good) and autorifles?
Loads of people are shouting about how autorifles should rule supreme - but they're missing the point of having different weapon classes - the problem is that the lines between the weapon classes are becoming blurred and losing balance; shotguns and hand cannons with way too much range, autorifles that are more deadly than any machine gun in the game, sniper rifles with such low impact you have to get two head shots to get a kill (defeats the purpose of a sniper rifle if you ask me) and finally the good ol' scout rifle, made for marksmen that don't want to just sit back and snipe, but want to make every shot count - but that only works if the weapon actually wounds - which gets me back to my point...
Is it just me or is the MIDA and the Bad JuJu suffering from some bad mojo?
For supposedly best in their class their acting a bit like NERF guns

I'm still trying to figure out how Bungie came up with weapon balance. A hand canon with half the rate of fire , twice the impact but with same range as a scout rifle. Clearly no one there has ever actually shot a real firearm let alone a big bore hand cannon.
