I'm mean from a Story perspective. I don't know why but this has always bothered me. Don't get me wrong, Guardians are super cool but when you know that even if they die they'll just come back makes them feel a little less cool in my eyes. I feel like it takes away the sense of danger when they fight.
When a guardian dies permanently I'm just thinking to myself "How did you, an immortal, manage to -blam!- up so badly to the point where you died permanently?".
I'm not saying you won't get the feels from their death, I'm just saying that having their ghost be able to revive them in most situation dulls their death a bit.
Do give your reasoning for you choice. I would love to see some other perspective on this topic :)
Edit: It seems most of you disagree, and provide some very interesting points. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

well i mean salidin, says it in a stupid but clever way "i didn't know anyone with the light could die until they did" in a way we can die, wether the ghost revives us or not wont take away from the simple fact that we are a being of light and are super strong, heck even warlocks return form death, and in that case it adds something to death, life continues regardless of if we die, other beings of the light continue the fight, if anything we become a legacy. Killing a hive god, a hive king, a being able to destroy time, the fallen spider, becoming an iron lord, becoming an ascendent being.
