Welcome, to Destiny Survival Guide.
Creeping, slithering, skulking down the stairs. Jumping, staking, jugging everywhere.
Hearing it's name will make you scared.
The Shotgun rusher craze is here.
The Shotgun, or it's scientific name, "Shotticus-gunnius", is a common species of primary which is seen throughout all modes of the Crucible. It can be found in any sort of casual or sweaty match. You will run around a corner and BLAMBOOOOOOM, you have been decimated by this primary. If you encounter a wild shotgun in the wild prairies of the Crucible, here are some effective ways to avoid a fatal encounter with a shotgun.
STEP 1: Awareness - If they are in very close proximity on your radar but you can't see them with your 2 eyes, then they are most likely lurking around a corner waiting for some unlucky prey. Try and throw a grenade to flesh out those cavities that you are unsure about.
STEP 2: Counter - If you disregarded Step 1, then read this. If you have a shotgun madly charging you, then please do the following. Go backwards. Shoot it with your primary weapon. Go backwards and shoot it. Run (bad idea as it most likely will skate to catch up). Any of these steps work. But you will only have to do these actions if you disregard my instructions.
Step 3: Pain - If you do get attacked by a wild shotgun and have ignored steps 1-2, then this step is for you idiots. If you ran blindly into a room with a wild shotgun inside and did not take evasive actions, then you will most likely be dead or very close to dead. Take cover and wait to recover. (rhyme intended) But be on high alert as the shotgun did not kill you, it most likely doubled-back and is lying in wait for you to stumble upon it again. So do not go and take revenge for the shotgun hitting you. Wait for it to run at you, then mow it down.
