I tend to imagine it will go something like this:
"Destiny 2: CANCELLED"
Followed by a press conference where Activision announces that Bungie will be joining Infinity Ward (and whatever their other company is) in making seasonal Call of Duty titles.

Infinity Ward made Ghosts, Modern Warfare, and Infinite Warfare. Treyarch made World at War, Black Ops, and the original several WW2 CoDs. Sledgehammer has only made Advanced Warfare so far, but are releasing the next game. So, do you mean Treyarch, Sledgehammer, or both? #TitanMasterRace

Treyarch was the one i couldn't remember, although i completely forgot about Sledgehammer. Kudos for the assist.

EA did that with Visceral(the guys who made Dead Space). They ended up making Battlefield Hardline.
