Black Spindle

So i have black spindle on all characters, but when I try to help a friend with his, the door doesn't open and says just missed it. I know how to do it and all things not to do, but ROI took away time sensitive part. We still did Paradox successfully for No Time To Explain. Did The Dawning mess it up? Anyone else have similar issue?

I think they changed it to no death...and all guardians must reach the first ogre section.
