Reaching LL 400 Solo
I have almost completed this task. I acquired my first piece of LL 400 gear today from a strike bounty. I am almost there. I can do this. I went up 3 LL. The grind is almost complete.
And I have done this without doing a single trials of osiris or raid ever.
(also, I have a suspicion that the strike elite gear can get you tier 12 stats)
Just sharing how my day went.

1 ReplyI to am a solo player trying to get my light score up to 400. I am currently at 398. I read the negative comments about missing out on the best part of Destiny. I absolutely LOVE this game. I solo it because I'm an older gamer with no friends that play Destiny. I picked it up because I had heard so much good feedback about the game. Four months later I have played every day and have over 1000 hours easily in the game. The only missions I'm missing are the King's Fall Raid and the Wrath of the Machine mission obviously because they require a Fireteam. Destiny wasn't easy to learn. It took hours of pain staking trial by error, YouTube videos, web searches and just asking to learn what to do. After so much soloing I was finally forced to fight in the Crucible and complete Strikes and take part in the Iron Banner. And that was and is some of the best part of Destiny. But I have tried to get people to let me join in with them so I can complete the King's Fall Raid and Wrath of the Machine whether it be a message or through a LFG site and people just don't want a "newbie" or a "pug" on their team. So unfortunately some of us are stuck soloing. To those of you who responded negatively. It's not for trying. Destiny is by far the greatest game I have ever played. I'm a few pieces away from a 400 light score for my Titan. Destiny is an awesome community. It's just hard sometimes for the solo guy to access the community.

13 RepliesGetting to 400 light is a joke. You'll never know the struggle to get to 320 when the taken king was up. Grinded weeks and weeks on end never saw a 320 helmet.

Congrats on almost getting there. Once you get there on one it's a breeze to upgrade your other 2 if you have some setup. Not easy grinding to 400 solo and takes some time.

Congrats! Got my first Guardian to 400LL today. First time to max light. Like you, did it solo - no raids since VOG, no Trials. Did 25 IB matches in a row yesterday trying to get a 400 ghost to drop. Didn't happen. Went into Forge this evening and had two 400 ghost shells drop in less than 30 minutes. Now to grind Strikes for the two 400 primaries that my other 2 Guardians need to reach 400 LL.

Congrats on your first 400 piece! Archon's Forge can be good for artifacts and ghosts. :) I've only run a handful of raids (still have yet to complete a single KF run and only one WotM run so far). Once I hit 400, I started looking at actually putting together higher tier rigs. Good luck on chasing down the rest of the gear!

1 ReplyGo you! Hope you grabbed some legs from iron banner. No strike legs real pita. Sadly though once you hit 400 theres not that much more to do without lfg and group activities. Aim for 400 t12? In all 3 classes. Maybe?

Same here, felt like it took a long time, but once there, 400 gear and weapons seem to drop all over the place. SRL definitely gave me a push in the right direction, and IB just gave me a few more loadout options.

I reached 390 just on vanguard and faction packages combined with Archon's Forge.Reached 400 on two characters the first IB after that..All three at 400 for a couple of months now. SRL just gave me a ton of infusion gear at 400.This IB gave me more. All done solo que. Now the grind from 295-300 before the April Update...that was too much.Matter of fact,I left the game for months before April.

I hit 400 on all 3 characters on Xbox a few months ago without doing the raid. I'm at 350-360 on 3 characters on PS4, granted I just started 3 weeks ago. At this rate I should max out in a few more weeks. I'm not a year one player, but I disliked the infusion system prior to what we have now. Most times I had to infuse 2 or more items to get it to the LL I wanted it to be at.

Edited by Wintermute 2050: 1/24/2017 4:56:42 PMYour highest character is the Titan at 397. I suggest farming exotic engrams and learning the order in which to decrypt them so you can reach 400 soon. This method will take hours of work, but grinding strikes will take weeks of effort. Continue to avoid raids and Trials. Whatever path you choose, try to get to 400 in the near future. When the April update becomes available there probably will be another light level increase. You will be further behind, if you have not reached 400 by then.

I've never reached max light until just before it was increased each time. I'm close now and should get there before any more updates, but if not? Oh well.

4 RepliesMax light is way to easy now, day 1 player, never play any type of Crucible. All 3 characters Been 400 since October before the update, that update ruined the game - too easy, if you think you are grinding now - not ! I wouldn't even call myself good, just OK, but there are a lot of shity 400's out there since December & getting worse each week. IMO

Same .. well .... I had to do the raid once to get the -blam!-ing prime but after that I was done with raids
