Shadestep should give -6 to recovery if equipped

Yea I said it. You nightstalkers dodge every nade thrown at you. Weasel out of every 1 shot encounter. And to add to that, you get mini nukes with your wombo combo and the ability to see where your opponent is behind walls. "Oh but our super sucks that's why we need to have an OP neutral game." Bulls***. Your super is extremely powerful and shuts down all other supers. Why should blink reduce recovery and not shadestep? Your subclass will be nerfed. You have the highest overall kd of all the other subclasses by a wide margin. If you don't believe me, then go check destinytracker.     • Just sounds like more crying about the sneaky snakes that are nightstalkers. Shadestep makes that subclass a blast to use. Just find other ways to challenge them.     • If you want to take away one of the few things that makes NS good then why don't we do the same for other classes? Let's take away amplitude for SC, and juggernaut for strikers. The two other abilities mentioned also provide an easy pass in the crucible. Amplitude is paired with a shotgun 99% of the time and allows you to engage an enemy from a distance at which they have no hope of killing you. If you take 80 damage from a shotgun or more there is no way for you to counter considering they follow up with a melee attack from range. It takes less than half a second for an average person to shoot and then melee. Juggernaut allows strikers to warrior players from distances where they would normally be shot with a primary. Only fast firing weapons are effective against it. This is assuming you have direct line of sight and enough distance to bring down the shield and kill the titan. If they come around a corner you are dead unless you have a super or their shield runs out and you to have a shotgun. Each of the three classes has an ability that is powerful, maybe even borderline OP, but if you take one out then they all need to go.

      • I think I nerf to armor would be more appropriate. Much like blink nerfs recovery....make shadestep slightly nerf armor. Either dodge or die.

        • This is a cute post. It made me laugh at the fact that while there is more game broken mechanics, you're complaining about an ability that does not ditch out any damage what so ever.           • Can we appreciate that you can either skate away, or bunny hop to avoid everything as well. I also think most of the new players and "scrubs" gravitate toward Titan and Warlocks.

            • hmmm while i don't neccessarily agree with thispost , I will say that shadestep is an evasive maneuver, it would make sense that it would reduce recovery (like what they did with blink). I could potentially agree with a -1 recovery for it, but then there is the exotic shadestep helm that would work around that. As for the rest of the subclass, the super is awkward and inconsistent both positively and (mostly) negatively, and the neutral game is passive double grenading, which is a gross playstyle :\ tbh id prefer a total sandbox change to make a primary weapon metta again, also slowing down recharge rates for T5 timers on abilities, but that's apparently just me.

                • So nightstalker has a .04 KD higher KD and it needs a nerf? It has the highest KD because blade dancer sucks and gunslinger sucks, defender is average, sunsinger is average.. No. Blink never needed the recovery nerf in the first place anyway. I mostly use blade dancer anyway because of fleet footed and invisibility. Then I mostly run titan and warlock. It's not op. Some other subclasses could use a buff though. We don't need more nerfs!

While I agree that shadestep is often used and can be incredibly frustrating since no other subclass has anything comparable to it (not even Blink if you think about it) I don't think a -6 Recovery penalty is called for. Perhaps their Recovery could be disabled for 3 seconds after using shadestep? Just an idea, guys, don't shoot me lol.
