Been watching a lot of very detailed and compelling analyses (uh-NAL-uh-sees, not AN-uh-LIE-ziz) of stuff lately, from cinema to gaming and most visual art... This is a pretty good look at the downfall of arguably the biggest franchise of the seventh generation.
That said, I can't offer too much myself: I remember little of 3 and WaW, and Modern Warfare struck me as a needless deviation from the gravity of history, loaded with the plot of a generic Tom Clancy (spelling?) novel.
AN-uh-LIE-ziz
If you pronounce it like this, you should be hanged. As soon as Call of Duty discovered the true financial potential of multiplayer with CoD4, all was lost. The classic, historically focused chronicles and on-disc art galleries were traded for drama and espionage and even that ridiculous highly-scripted action tripe was shortened for the sake of the gun-shrine PvP. And honestly, undead Nаzi survival with super powered sodas and laser guns? Who the fuсk thought that was a good idea? I think it's preposterous that the same people who "only buy cod fer zombies" are the ones who "really want boots on the ground not this jetpack stuff" I really hate wasting my breath complaining about CoD and CoD fans, there probably isn't anything more pointless to argue about. Is there hope for the franchise? No, of course not, lol. Turn the page and play something worthwhile.
