Heyo everybody! Muzzy here... again. (Maybe I should get a hobby). I'm bringing you a little theory today about the weapons we receive in the Iron Banner event.
Let's look at the aesthetics of the weapons for a moment. They look like they are very old and cobbled together. If you're familiar with Fallout 4, I would equate the Iron Banner weapons as the Destiny version of the Pipe guns. They're both very makeshift, using things like pipes and wood for the gun's frame. The Iron Banner weapons also have the symbol of the Iron Banner on them and are adorned with things like fur and chainmail. That's a bit of an oddly specific thing, isn't it?
The three of them picked up large, rough-hewn metal shields. Behind their shields, each held a worn rifle, wrapped with cloth and chain mail. (Lady Perun Grimoire card)
Well, if that doesn't paint a picture of the Iron Banner weapons, I don't know what does. Do you think that the Iron Banner weapons were originally wielded by the Iron Lords? Do you think that they are just replicas created for the modern Guardians to use? Is it just pure coincidence? Tell me your thoughts in the comments. Have a fantastic day, Guardians.
EDIT: Upon further investigation and discussion, I have concluded that the Year 3 Iron Banner weapons are replicas of the weapons wielded by the Iron Lords 600-700 years ago. Here's a thank you to my lore clan The Ashen Conflux.
