This isn't a positive post about how "Destiny saved my life" or "Destiny helped me get through stuff".
This is me wondering why the hell I still even bother to even start the game up.
I was hooked for 1 1/2 years. I couldn't stop playing. I did the same thing over and over and over again. Did everything in the game hundreds of times over. And I enjoyed it.
I played Crucible with lag and enjoyed it.
I played Trials with DDoS and loved it.
I played the same set of 3 Strikes in rotation over and over and over and over and over again, and somehow I still loved the -blam!-ed out of doing it.
Here I am now. 3 years later. I was a beta player. Now what? Our shit doesn't carry over into Destiny 2 like was promised. Everything we have will be wiped, and most likely the Destiny 1 "servers" will be shut down a year into Destiny 2.
I'm tired of doing the same Strikes. Same single relevant Raid. Same laggy Crucible against the sweatiest people who've quit their jobs, threw retirement out the window, and stream all day(not to mention the damn meta cause Bungie can't balance((and is actually 343i now and these guys who made Destiny literally had nothing to do with the masterpiece that was Halo)).
Why do I play? I could be playing Titanfall 2. MGSV. Warframe. Neverwinter. FFXIV. ZOMBI. DMC4: SE. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. Street Fighter V. or even getting onto Steam and diving into my PC game library.
I feel like I torture myself. Is this what it is? I'm torturing myself? Just finished a match of Zone Control. We couldn't cap B cause it was constant Defender bubble and god roll shotguns. Enemy team teabagged too after every kill.
Destiny feels like a failure, ya know? Bungie didn't know what to do, and still don't know what to do. They've given up on this game. It's pretty obvious. There's literally a team of 20 people on Destiny now, cause the other 100+ employees are focusing on Destiny 2. And what will Destiny 2 be? Hopefully better, but it's doubtful.
Look at the current state, especially in Crucible. These maps were designed for TDM. Cause that's literally all there was. TDM with flags. 3v3 TDM. TDM. Free for All. TDM with vehicles. The only objective mode was Salvage, and that was a failure(because of the above stated "Maps were designed for TDM".).
Rift is a disaster, because the maps weren't designed for that kind of objective play. Zone Control was a disaster, because they weren't designed for it. You only need 2 flags to win, and the cheesiest strategies.
Mayhem was literally just "TDM but with Supers".
What happened to CTF? Grifball? King of the Hill? Oddball? Right... everyone who worked on Halo is now at 343i, fired, or quit.
The PVE is even worse. There's no love in it anymore. You can feel it.
