"What offer?" Avilon asked. He crossed his arms and waited. He still loathed the man before him, and he was waiting for a reason to slit his throat.
"Oh, good good good," Harkon paced around the room. He twirled his fingers around, thinking. "I can get you out of here."
"That's your offer?" Avilon asked. "That's like telling a starving man 'you can get him food'. I'm going to need more than that."
Harkon stopped and looked at the exo. Avilon couldn't look at him for too long, his helmet made him feel uncomfortable for some reason. No face, no emotion, just vastness. Harkon looked up, then climbed into the rafters of the ceiling.
Avilon glanced up. He couldn't see the Void mask anymore. Harkon became a shadow in the night. "Why do you wear that helmet?" Avilon asked.
"Helmet?" Asked the voice, followed by a crazed laugh. "This is no helmet!" Said the voice from behind the exo. Avilon turned around to see Harkon hanging from the ceiling upside-down. "This is my face. I am one with the Void, you see?..."
"... Sure..." Avilon said skeptically. "So, what's the plan, 'Harkon'?"
"Plan?... I 'planned' to wing this," the hunter answered with a laugh as he swung around by his feet.
"You haven't really convinced me to keep you alive yet..." Avilon said in a threatening manner.
Harkon stopped swinging, then dropped to his feet. He stood up, pulled the jagged hand cannon, Thorn, from his holster, then forced it into Avilon's hand. "Go ahead. Shoot me, shoot me, shoot me! I dare ya! I daaarrreee ya!" Harkon forced Avilon to point the weapon straight at his chest. "Yeah, I killed 'an innocent person', trying to find the appropriate pieces for my armor. You call yourself Fallen, so, you killed 'your own kind' so you could loot their bodies of their armor," he cocked his head to the side. "We're not so different, you know. You kill, and kill, and kill for better gear and weapons. I kill, and kill for the same thing. In fact, the Awoken let me in here so I can scavenge the corpses. So, go ahead. Kill me if you must, cause I'm the 'monster' here..." Harkon placed his chest against the barrel.
Avilon held his finger to the trigger for a moment, contemplating, but he eventually lowered the weapon. Harkon's words seeped into the exo's algorithms, and it showed in his somber face. He gave off a sigh before speaking, "Just... tell me what you got in mind..."
"I don't know what you're talking about. There's nothing up here," Harkon said as he hit his knuckle against the side of his head. "But I can get your armor and weapons, and possibly some buddies for your 'Bo She'lot'..."
Avilon was shocked that Harkon spoke Eliksni too. "What do you need?"
"Well, I'm going to need your name, Bright Eyes..."
Avilon and Harkon snuck through the hallways. A royal guard was walking around, just on the other side of the corner. The two hunters waited against the wall. When the guard approached, Harkon, grabbed her and shoved her head into the wall, knocking her out cold. Avilon took her auto rifle and Vestian Dynasty. He kept an eye behind the two as they snuck for the armory.
Without any further incidents, the two found the gate to the armory guarded by two battle frames. Avilon peaked around the corner, then leaned back to stay hidden. "Is anyone coming?" He asked Harkon.
"Huh?" Harkon was slicing muscle and skin from some bones he gathered.
Avilon looked to him, disgusted. "What... what is that?"
"I collected some fingers from the guard. I'm going to hang them like a necklace..."
"You're sick..."
Avilon ran around the corner and gunned down one frame. Before the other could react, he jumped off the wall and kicked the other frame to the ground. Avilon picked up the frame and shoved its head into the keypad, short-circuiting the system, and opened the lock.
Harkon followed behind with a slow clap. "Impressive."
Avilon walked in and inspected all the gear in the room. Most of it was gear for royal guards, but there was some stuff from Fallen.
"You're a prisoner, so look for boxes labeled 'P'..." Harkon said.
Sure enough, the exo found his weapons in a crate labeled "P-1055". It had his various guns and his two blades. The other box, with the same label, had his Eliksni armor. After five minutes, and some help from Harkon, Avilon was dawning his Fallen gear.
"If I didn't just help that on you, I would kill you and scrounge for bones..." Harkon said as he walked around Avilon and inspected the armor. "Eliksni with proper amounts of ether have good, strong bones..."
The two white, slotted eyes stared at Harkon. "That's... comforting..." Avilon said after swinging his House of Thieves cloak over his shoulders and clipping it to his back.
The two made their way through the base. Avilon thought it was odd that no guards were coming after them after breaking into the armory. Maybe-- he wondered-- shoving the battle frame into the control panel fried the alarms.
"Attention all personnel! Security breach detected in the southern cooridor! Security breach detected in the southern cooridor!" The message followed a series of sirens blaring in the Prison of Elders. The Guardians shared glances. Harkon gripped the Thorn tightly in his hand, and Avilon took his shock rifle from off his back.
"I've always wanted to steal a Thief..." Harkon said with a chuckle. Avilon growled in response to the bad joke.
Avilon looked around the hallway they stood in. He looked up, then said, "I have an idea."
