Variks slowly sat up from his chair. He clenched his staff and pushed himself to his aching feet. "You are not Eliksni. I can sense it just in your presence, yesss." Variks breathed deeply as he inspected the hunter before him. "What are you?" He asked.
The four armed figure wore armor built from Eliksni parts he had gathered over time. He had a crimson cape with a white Eliksni glyph. His helmet resembled that worn by Aksor the Archon Priest, just without the horns. "Indeed, I am not Fallen, sadly. My name's Avilon-5, or simply Avilon."
"You wish to be Fallen?" Variks asked.
"Yes. I find your culture... interesting."
"Then, why are you here, in Prison of Elders?"
"I want to learn from your kind. Fight them. Fight like them. Become Fallen."
"My kind was proud kind. These 'Wolves' are dishonorable, yesss?"
"Then I will restore their honor..."
Variks' breathing was made louder by his chainmail covered ether filter. The captain formed a fist and hit a button on the wall. A gate opened, leading to the Prison lobby. Avilon nodded to the representative of the House of Judgment, before walking into the room. The airlock shut behind him, locking him in, then the room lit up. Four doors circled him. One was red. One was a faded sky blue. One had bones and strange mass protruding from it. The last, was simply steel.
The red door opened. Avilon spun around to see a broken, fixed, butchered servitor staring at him. Wires strung out of the oculus and seemed to hold the shell together. The hunter looked closer. The inside was, for most part, hollow. This servitor was just a shell. "Welcome, to the Prison of Elders. Do. Not. Fail," it spoke.
Avilon patted his arsenal of weapons: Shock dagger on his gauntlet, shock blade on his belt, a shock pistol also on his belt, a wire rifle on his back, and a shock rifle held between his exo fingers.
The servitor flew back a few feet before teleporting out of the way all together. Avilon walked through the cooridor slowly. He climbed the steps, then the next airlock cracked open. A breath of stale, ether-filled air flushed over Avilon before the gate fully opened.
The Guardian stepped in and that airlock shut. He was locked in with the Wolves. Avilon smiled under his Eliksni helmet. Gates all around the arena slid open and Fallen dregs, vandals, and shanks poured in. Their howling echoed off the high ceiling, amplifying their cries. Instead of preparing to fight, Avilon waited for the Fallen to surround him. He propped himself against a pole, then crossed his arms.
The Fallen did. They surrounded the lone Guardian as he stood carefree. Finally, the Guardian acted like he was cracking his knuckles, then stepped forward.
"Drah Bo Lovos!" Avilon shouted. The howling, growling Fallen fell silent. How could a thief of the Great Machine speak their language? "Drada kee, ya gue drass drah Bo She'lot!"
Variks, listening through the prison comms, began translating what the exo said for Petra Venj. "He said, 'The House Wolves. Stand strong, or cower before the House... Thieves'?" Variks tilted his head in confusion. "I do not know Thieves."
"He plans to reunite the Houses like Skolas!" Petra exclaimed. She stood straight and looked to the royal guards behind her, "Go to the prison and arrest him! Bring him to me for quest--"
"Wait!" Variks yelled as he grabbed Petra's arm. "Wolves are broken. They are lost, yesss. They will not join," Variks watched the monitor intently.
Petra turned back to the guards, who stood waiting for her final order, "Stand down. Let's see what this fool does."
Avilon stood with his four arms stretched out. The Fallen began whispering to each other. They dared not to speak aloud now that they realized the Guardian understood them. Suddenly, bursting through the crowd of Fallen, came a tall captain, a baroness. She pushed a vandal out of the way before speaking to Avilon. "Bo Lovos drada kee. Bo She'lot nassa ka; sha'ir aba dress..."
"What did they say?!" Petra asked nervously.
"The baroness said, 'House Wolves will stand strong. House Thieves shall burn; Guardian the dreg...' They do not like him as Thief baron, yesss?" Variks answered.
Avilon lowered his arms slowly. The Fallen began challenging him and the baroness raised her shrapnel launcher into the air. "Eliksni nassa drada kee! Drah sha'ir nassa ka!"
Avilon raised his shock rifle and stood his ground. "Yo grah. Vos drah bo?"
"Variks?" Petra asked.
"Wolf baroness challenges the outsider. 'Fallen shall stand strong. The Guardian shall burn.' The Thief said back, 'I accept. For the house?' Wolves will not join peacefully, yesss."
"Unacceptable!" Petra declared. "You five, arrest him!" She said to the guards. Variks opened the gate to the prison and let them enter.
The baroness laughed at Avilon's request. The Fallen ran around, firing on the exo as he ran for cover. He peaked around the wall and fired off four shots that locked onto, and tracked, a vandal and killed it. The massive baroness roared with anger and suppressed Avilon with the molten bolts of metal.
Several web mines dropped into the arena. Avilon watched them as they floated in air for a couple of seconds. "Uh, oh..." Pop! Pop! Pop! Mines exploded, deploying "heavy" arc energy that blinded the Fallen.
The airlock opened up, letting four guards with shields and pikes to enter. Captain Yuli held her Vestian Dynasty at Avilon, "You are under arrest for conspiring with the Fallen prisoners! Drop your weapons and keep your hands up!" Avilon sighed frustratedly. He slowly put down his shock rifle as two guards handcuffed his four arms.
They escorted Avilon out of the arena. "Get my weapon!! I modified it myself!" He shouted. Yuli picked up the shock rifle and followed the group.
