Sure, this may not have been against the best team. However; I'm tired of hearing that Ronin is a weak titan. I'm now on a mission to prove his greatness!
So come out of the shadows my fellow Ronin Pilots and share with me those video clips or stories you might have. Let's show the Tone, Ion, Scorch and Legion pilot's whose boss!
ps. yes I left northstar off on purpose
I love ronin lol
-
Both northstar and ronin are high skill titans. Both are spammed by the community. Though I have to give the edge to ronin over northstar despite her being my favorite. Ronin has the ability to control the fight from the start to the finish, arguably the best block in the game, highest mobility in the game, and the one true counter to tone. It's just a shame that I dislike him so much because 90% of ronin players just spam the melee.

This guy has mastered the way of the sword.
-
Nothing like phasing to the side of legion/scorch strafing and unloading then executing their slow sorry asses. Also, killing tone is very fulfilling. I'll give it to Scorch or legion though if I make a mistake while trying to close distance or they spot me from a distance I can get screwed quick.
-
All i see is Ronin players rushing me with their sword while i blast them away with legion. Do Ronin players do that often?
-
Ronin's a beast if you know exactly what you're doing. He's incredibly easy to counter unless the pilot is exceedingly crafty and savvy. But to counter is pretty easy; Legion's powershot, Tone's particle wall, Scorch's flame shield. The key to Ronin? Crits.

Ronin is weak, but if you know how to use him he's unstoppable
-
Scorch is my favorite, but ronin is really fun. Also, I've been playing Northstar alot, and I think both of their cores need buffs. Northstar's core doesn't do nearly enough damage, is extremely inaccurate, and makes you a huge target. Also, maybe I'm just bad, but whenever I use ronin's core, I always get executed. Maybe I'm popping it at the wrong times, but increased dashes and a slightly better sword doesn't seem like a viable core ability to me. Legion and regular ronin shotguns seem to out dps me whenever I try to sword spam in my core. Plus, one melee after taking a bit of damage instantly executes me.

Northstar and scorch

Been putting in time with Ronin. Finding myself thinking about situations more.

I used to main Tone. Then I realized what I had become. So I switched it up and became Sneaky Scorch. You won't realize your face has been melted until it's too late.
-
Ahhh ronin players, how I enjoy predicting where you will exit your phase and punishing you by standing there.
-
I heard that ronin can nuke eject during phase shift and explode when he comes out of it, not allowing titans to get away. Patch possibly needed.
-
I don't have any clips, but I have done some work with ronin. Really you just have to learn how to play smart with him. I like to flank the enemy Titans and do as much damage as possible, then run away before I take too much damage

Edited by Vague-BAD: 12/18/2016 6:35:31 AMThe only mech that's underpowered is Northstar imo. I haven't used him much to really test him out but he seems quite difficult to be dominant with, while you can be dominant with every other Titan. But who seriously thinks Ronin is weak? I switched to him just to try him out (I want to get everything to gen. 2 to get a better understanding of the game) and I've stuck with him recently. His weaknesses lie in his lack of versatility, and the pilot's ability to be patient. (edited after first reply) Edit: Just started using Northstar, and this is not underpowered. While it is a support mech for sure, it can do incredible amounts of damage if used properly.

Edited by Vox Mortuis: 12/18/2016 7:58:53 AMRonin isn't weak, but he's pretty situational, unless you're very good with him. Northstar on the other hand...Still isn't weak, my highest level titan at the moment.
nothing like a one shot cross map kill on a doomed Ronin.
-
Ronin only "sucks" because he has a high skill ceiling. I just finished playing some Attrition as Scorch and was decimated by a great Ronin player 3 times. They rush in, shred you with the leadwall, incapacitate you with arc wave, phase dash behind you and reload, then disembowel you with their sword and more leadwall shots. I was like, "come at me bro, I'll melt you with flame shield. Nu uh. Fresh Titan, dead in 10 seconds. I have great admiration and fear towards players whi can pilot Ronin with such lethal finesse.
-
*teleports behind you* *unsheathes katana* "Heh, nothin' personnel kid."
-
I use Legion. Why? Because . Gatling Good. ANd I make good support . with good cover and good team mates? something you do nnot want to fight. stupid enemies and good team? well this just not fair. with cover? well then might as well pitch me a tent and have marshmallows.

I'm offended.
Im a Northstar main ;-;
The guys you were playing against were playing like a bunch of drunk 10 year olds.
-
I'm still salty about the Ronin pilot that waiting until I doomed a titan before going in for an execution and stealing me kill.
-
It's not that it's weak. It's that most people are sword spamming nooby pieces of shit who can't handle a real mech. Also, I've noticed that it's Titan execution is easier to pull off but I don't know why

Even though my mains (scorch and legion) are banes of Ronin. I like to support my Ronin teammates with scorch since the enemy almost has tunnel vison and shoots me and my flame shield.
how's that working out
Then tank the damage from the tone and ion so ronin can get away. FOR THE TEAM
