Every fall release this year has already been discounted by 50% or more. Yesterday Amazon sold the Battlefield 1 bundle with statue and game for over $100 off. It's great for consumers, but it seems ridiculous to sell a game for $60 and then a month or two later sell it for less than $30. Why are publishers doing this to themselves? Is this the beginning of the end for $60 games?

It's retail man! Gotta move the stock. Most items have at least a 100% increase over cost, so selling it for 50% off means they are still making a 50% profit.
