I stopped reading after you said removed elemental burn from weapons from normal raid weapons. In Crota's End, you could only get the primaries from hard (Abyss Defiant, Oversoul Edict, Word of Crota, and Fang of Ir Yut). In VoG, you could get VoC and Aetheon's Epilogue in the Normal so it doesn't make sense here.
Don't mess with the elemental primaries of Y1, just leave them as is and allow them to be infusable.

That's not true at all... The first two weapons you got out of the normal raid were Abyss Defiant and Oversoul Edict. One for the shadow maze, the other for the second bridge with sword bearers. Not even at Crota.

I've never gotten a primary from normal, and I've run it almost 100 times

I dunno what to tell ya then. I got weapons on my first few runs when it came out when the goal was just to do one part on normal.

I'm pretty sure you had to get those out of the hard raid, and the normal only gave you shards/energy. I did this pretty recently (well, a couple months prior to launch of RoI) in order to get an Oversoul Edict to use in PVP. I could be wrong on this, but I was pretty sure that this was the case. If you can get them in the normal, I don't ever recall actually getting them in the normal.

No, every 'section' reward had more than just shards in the pool of drops. The only thing that strictly gave shards/energy was the chests that weren't exotic. I remember when CE dropped and I soloed the shadow maze for kicks and giggle whilst not knowing what to do until I looked up some stealth videos and the rock you could jump on. Then I did the solo sword over the bridge thing (among a whole slew of other cheeses that got patched) and got both Aybss Defiant and Oversoul Edict before ever meeting Crota and before Hard raid was out.

Unless they've changed something since The Dark Below, the primaries were only available from Heroic Crota's End. Oversoul Edict could be obtained from the Abyss, Abyss Defiant from the Bridge, and both Fang of Ir Yut and Word of Crota were from Crota himself. On Normal mode, armor could be obtained from the Abyss, Bridge, and Crota while Special and Heavy weapons were only from Crota. The class item was obtainable from a simple chest in the Abyss at first, but was changed to Ir Yut, whose loot acted similarly to a chest and was only available once regardless of difficulty. Radiant Materials could drop from any encounter and dropped from all chests. Exotics were possible drops from Ir Yut and Crota.

I knew that only Crota could drop Word and Fang on Hard. Along with the cosmetics and exotic drop. Hmm... yeah that sounds right. I could've swore they dropped on normal mode though. Lol, it was such a long time ago.

Well like I said, I could be wrong. I don't ever remember getting them in the normal raid. The first time I got one was in the hard raid when a friend of ours was showing us how to run the lamps solo with a hunter, and then how to fly over the bridge with the sword. Both times, we got an Abyss Defiant and an Oversoul Edict.

And you could get an additional chance at a drop like armor + weapon or weapon + shards. Or some combination like that. The end game, at Crota, is where the true differences in loot drops come into play from normal and hard. One example, you cannot attain Black Hammer on Hard Raid. That is only a Normal boss battle Crota weapon drop.

Yeah, Crota drops the Primaries on Hard, and the special/heavy in normal. I know that for a fact because I was trying to get a Song of Ir Yut and a Light of the Abyss to complete my collection prior to RoI launching (I knew I was going to delete Destiny and stop playing when RoI launched because I had no plans to buy it).

Lol, maybe I'm wrong. That does sound right but for some reason I swear the first weapons I got were the primaries Abyss and Oversoul. And, with not exactly having a lot of friends, I would try to solo parts of the normal raid. Until I eventually found groups.

The hard raid isn't that much different from the normal for the first 2 phases. Would be easy to mix them up.
