Edited by ziamatrix: 12/4/2016 6:24:01 PMI really enjoyed ffxv and thought the ending was pretty good, but around chapter 8 the story starts feeling rushed and here are some of my problems. Why does Gladio leave the group? Only reason I see is to make a point for the DLC. Why bring the fact that Prompto is a magitec up, soley for the point of him being able to unlock one single door? Why and how did Ignis lose his eyes? Again, that would be only neccessary for the DLC What about Ifrit? If you don't read anything outside of the game, he has no point in being there, as he wasn't explained at all. Where was Noctis all these years? We just see him 10 years later and Umbra gives him a letter from his friends, like they waited exactly 10 years to contact him. There's so much they could have added, like flashbacks of Ardyns past or the events leading to the Imperial capital being overrun by demons and Iedolas ending up dead. Also I felt Raven should've had more screentime as he wasn't such a bad guy after all. Just having him there for one short scene with the guys and another scene with Luna before killing him offscreen wasn't fair.

Sad but they really did a good job with it im interested to see where the dlc goes since they all sacrificed their lives. Also umbra is still alive i know that was a means for you to keep playing after beating the game but does that mean someone else can use him to turn back time and change outcomes?

There were some things that bothered me about the ending, like where Noctis was for ten years; and why was Noctis and Luna together on the throne if they both died? My guess is that the Crystal restored them too. The fight against Aryan gave me Z.O.E. vibes, good stuff. Thankfully, Square didn't pull the swichteroo on us again, the investment in him paid off. Good backstory for him too, he was meaningful to the game world and sought dominance instead of the usual nihilism from FF villains. That last campfire scene though, they needed to hug. Brothers don't shake hands, brothers gotta hug. I enjoyed the credits too, very poignant. And I thought Noctis's legacy was concrete, the sun broke through the clouds, the Light has returned.

Edited by Retro_Spective: 12/8/2016 2:34:36 PMCleared yesterday, worst FF game ever with a vague story. The most simplistic boring, clunky combat system I've ever played in a AAA RPG. This combat system makes the Witcher 3 look good. 5/10

What happened to Pryna the white dog. Prompts mentions it once and that's it. She was shot in the Omen trailer and was a puppy in Brotherhood.

The ending had to happen the way it did, or none of the story would have meant anything. As much as it urked me that everyone died, i loved it Im not sure the dlc is going to further the story. I see them adding in side stories or chapters. Kinda like lost episodes

Is there a new game plus when you beat it?

I'm currently collecting the maps and trying to peg the dungeons I need to do to unlock the raid bosses. And I'm trying to level up cooking so I get the platinum.

Just finished. Amazing game throughout. Now onto that end game content. Then replaying the main quest.
