Sbmm complainers

Why aren't you campaigning as hard for dedicated servers as you are for CBMM? This is why everyone who isn't one of you thinks you're just crying because you can't get matched up with players way worse than you and feed your video game ego. If your focus was on dedicated servers, it would at least show people that your focus was on reducing lag. As it stands the focus is on the removal of SBMM and THEN moving to dedicated servers, which just makes it look like you want to be able to crush noobs with minimal lag.

  • Because designated servers require a massive rewrite of destiny's code and completely changes how pvp is done. Where as, Cbmm vs sbmm is essentially a sliding scale that is already in place. In other words, designated servers isn't possible in destiny 1. Cbmm is.

I'm playing on a fiber optic connection, my console is wired and on NAT type 1, and the matchmaking system cannot find me a lobby that doesn't have some sort of lag issues. In almost every match that i play i'm getting inconsistent hit detection, some players see me earlier than i see them, and i often find myself playing against people who are teleporting. On top of that, the netcode seems to reward you for having a terrible connection, playing against people who don't take damage is a constant problem. I'm not a top tier player, but apparently i'm good enough so that i have to play in lobbies that connect three continents in order to play against people who are of equal skill. If i party up with friends who are below average and therefore get matched into a bigger pool of available players the lag issues are still there, but most of the time they are a lot less severe. We are not going to get servers for a game that is at the end of its life cycle, but they could adjust the matchmaking to reduce the lag.

  • Because that makes too much sense. We don't use logic here. Also dedicated servers are a huge money investment but changing the matchmaking system only requires changing code.
