First of all, let me say that I have no opinion on this subject. I simply made and tested this video because people on both sides were posting chaotic, and unreliable clips favoring their argument in the middle of some random crucible firefight. This was done in a private match on a stationary target.
The test conditions were the same for both clips:
-No light advantages (we're both 400 anyways)
-Max armor bladedancer build.
-Bladedancer chestplate with solar burn armor.
The most important thing to draw from this: Hammers work like rockets in the fact that they have an impact and explosion damage. (Hence why people sometimes recommend against grenades and horseshoes on a PvE rocket launcher) These damages have separate values and show up as 2 separate numbers on screen. The explosion itself does around 360 damage (from what I've heard), and the impact around 80 [Seen as ~182 and ~48 against the bladedancer's armor].
This is an educational post, not an argument. Personally, I didn't even know hammers worked this way (with the 2 damages) until I tested it myself.
TL;DR: Hammers will always 1-hit-kill a bladedancer if the hammer is a direct hit and there are no external factors i.e. overshields, etc.
