It sounds like a bad habit and you should try to think a lot more about your actions in pvp, like when you are about to reload instead of doing it then check to see if you actually need to reload. Think about your problem more, it helps. Maybe try using guns with large magasins, guns with reload perks etc. I know all about bad habits in video games, I spot people before I shoot them in battlefield 1.
