It's high time I become more self reliant in way of getting around - everyone I know in my age group is either learning to drive or knows how. That said, I've a bit of a phobia when it comes to driving a car and although I've never ridden a motorcycle, for some reason I've always been convinced that would be easier for me to learn and in the long run better for me.
So, my question to anyone that it may apply to is; how hard is it to learn how to ride a motorcycle if you've never rode one before? Any tips / suggestions on how to go about learning? If it matters, for frame of reference, I'm 23.

I would say if you have a phobia of driving a car i would learn to drive an suv or a truck. While motor cycles are not to hard to learn and are quite fun to ride, the vigilance that goes along with riding one in traffic is not really for a novice driver. Many times you have to be extremely aware of your surroundings as most motorist dont pay enough attention and are extreme hazords for bikers.
