I don't get what most of these people are going on about. Bungie, so far, are the only ones to successfully bring the concept of a MMOFPS to the console. Which evidently is a lot harder than you might think. So many other huge developers have crashed and burned. Most notably Ubisoft with The Division. Bungie is doing an amazing job with Destiny and I'm super stoked for more to come. Keep up the great work! 👍🏼

Everyone in the comment so triggered

First: I love this game. Second: I was expecting more. I was expecting a game comparable to World of Warcraft in scale. Reasonable given how much the developers hyped up the game in early interviews. Right now, Destiny has too many menus and individual instances to make the game world feel huge. It just feels like a bunch of maps like any old Halo game. Don't get me started on the prehistoric pvp networking quality. I can love this game yet still admit it has a myriad of unacceptable flaws.
-
Succesfully? That is not true. When they can bring a shared world instead of lobbies and keep a healthy and more important constant population then they can call Destiny a MMOFPS, right now is just a FPS with some RPG mechanics.
-
for more great work please go see this weeks update.. real in depth stuff about Destiny and what is to come..
-
Lol me too
sarcasm
Lol. You're kissing Bungie's butt but I happen to agree with you there's way too much salt on these forums and Bungie has done and is doing a good job. They could always do better but they're doing pretty good
-
Edited by Dooodley: 11/23/2016 9:30:24 PMIt's a shared world shooter. NOT a MMO. And if you're going to use the most generic "it's an MMO because there are thousands of people online" argument then you're pretty much saying that online poker is a MMO too.

Well said

Because bungie created an open forum. Open forum = everyone's opinions. Gaming can be competitive. When something is competitive, people look for all sorts of things to blame about their gameplay. Sales and attach rates tell the real story. Watch, destiny 2 will set all sorts of records when released. Anyone else releasing a game that month will feel the effect. The trick is just not to get sucked up into the negative posts. It really is a great community filled some really talented players. A lot of players are supportive and helpful. One of the life lessons I was taught is, do not listen to the messenger, look into the message. Guns get meta rotations-makes gamers mad. Guardians get balanced-makes gamers mad All understandable. But in my twenty years of gaming, the real community of the game is positive.

Damn this is one of the nicest comments i have read of this forum

I think my guy was a hairdresser, because of the way he plays PvP! Just saying. ;)

Edited by mayo68: 11/23/2016 1:16:55 PMI don't know if I would go so far as to say "unwarranted", because Bunnie has made some major mistakes. The reality is not much effort will be put into the current platform with D2 getting most of the work load from here on out. True fans will except this and move on to other games until that time, while the self entitled crowd will continue to piss and moan expecting more. To those I say...grow up, stop expecting the wheel to roll in reverse and grab another game for awhile. Lots of good ones out there to choose from.

#hunterlife. Yeah, hunter's would be the only one's left possibly defending bungie.
-
Destiny isnt a MMOFPS at all.
-
The forum represents maybe .5% of the player base. So there's that.
-
The Division is a vastly better game now. Patch 1.4 overhauled almost the entire game.
-
Agreed
-
ESO? neverwinter? those are actually mmos destiny isn't in the same way cod isn't and RPG.
-
I know it's not just as simple as this for some people but if I hated the game as much as many of the people in these forums do, I wouldn't be playing it.
-
Incidentally and just to cause some drama here warlocks are the Master Class , not Hunters😆
-
Usually happens this time of year, new content drops people are joyous and happy, a few months later people get bored so they whine and complain, just routine.

Edited by Doc SoCal: 11/22/2016 4:32:18 PMYour perspective is too grounded. Put yourself in their shoes. 1: Pretend you are your avatar and attach your IRL self worth to it. 2: Pretend your stats matter to the whole world. 3: Every time you die or lose a match come here to complain the game is broken. Every time, no exceptions. After about a week of that you can be a whining entitled little twit and be so delusional that you think you are the cherub of justice. On second thought... don't do that. Have you played The Division lately? Mind blowing update. I hope Bungie plays it and is taking notes. :P
-
Because by Bungie standards, this game is a new low.
-
Still my fave game. I play almost every day. Still so much fun for my son and I.
-
Could be doing better imo though, the deal is that Bungie makes the same glaring mistakes with every release of Destiny. No story in game, connection issues, monotonous grind, and poor pvp. It's gotten better, but there is room for improvement.
