The white and gold hunter faced Laurel-- a small knife spun around in his fingers. The warlock stared at him and watched. The hunter pulled back his arm and threw the blade! Laurel force pushed the weapon into the ground in front of her feet. "I'm getting good at this!" She laughed. The hunter jumped into the air and threw another knife into her shoulder. As she sprawled to the ground and tears welled up in her helmet, the hunter pulled the first knife from the ground.
"I'm sorry. Let me end the pain," he said as he held the knife to her throat.
"I don't think so..." Matson held the hunter in a headlock and pulled him off of Laurel. The hunter kicked the wall in front of him, pushing him and Matson into the wall behind them. Matson threw the hunter to the side. The hunter dropped to his hands and kicked Matson's legs out from under him. When he landed, the hunter pounced, but Matson kicked him into the wall. Laurel huddled in the corner, still crying, as Crimson scanned her shoulder.
Matson hopped back to his feet, then throat punched the hunter. He held his hands to his throat and fell to the ground. Matson held him up by the neck and pulled out his knife, "You know, I'm still waiting for your sister to come and show me up..." he turned to the warlock. "You may want to look away..." Laurel cringed and covered her eyes as Matson slit the hunter's throat.
Matson held out his hand to Laurel. She raised her head up and stared at it. She slowly gripped it and he pulled her up. "Didn't you shoot me earlier?" She asked.
"Eh, yeah, but no hard feelings, right?" The hunter replied with a chuckle.
"Heavy ammo is inbound, Guardians!" Lord Shaxx's announcement filled the helmet of every Guardian; and everyone knew, only two crates spawned.
Victor stormed into the caves. A red marker appeared on his radar near the heavy spawn. He took another flashbang and threw it behind the rock pillar. He covered his eyes from the explosion, but there was no one over there. Victor propped his auto rifle on the stone cover and peered around.
"Heavy ammo available, Guardians!" Shaxx followed up. The warlock ran for the crate, and so did Victor. The two Guardians collided! Victor punched the warlock in the stomach, grabbed his head, and slammed it into the metal crate.
Victor collected the single ammo cartridge and strung the bullets into his machine gun. He lowered the lid and locked the belt into place. His Against All Odds machine gun from the Crucible was his second prized possession. This machine gun put power behind a few number of bullets-- it could cut through a Guardian's shields in less than a second of holding the trigger.
Victor charged through the base. Everyone knew one other Guardian had heavy ammo, he just had no idea who. He looked around the corner to see a titan running in his direction. He lifted his weapon and cut her down with just five bullets. A quick kill.
CHNG! CHNG! CHNG! Victor bolted around the corner and looked back where the bullets came from. Laurel had a very iconic weapon, the legendary Thunderlord. Myths had it, Thor carried this weapon with him during Ragnarok. Victor couldn't compete! The warlock continued to send bullets down range. She had killed a warlock that crossed the stream of bullets, causing him to explode with arc energy!
"You have a lot of deadly weapons for such a pacifist!" Victor yelled around the wall. His voice was drowned out in the barrage of ammunition.
The firing stopped. Victor peaked around to see Laurel reloading. He ran at her, raising an arc shield in front of him. "Come on! Come on!" Laurel cried as she failed to insert the new belt into the feed.
"Don't waste your bullets unless you know you can kill your target!" Victor yelled as a "teaching lesson".
"Don't touch her!" Matson yelled as he jumped on the titan's head and repeatedly hit it with the stock of his shotgun. Victor ran into a wall from the shift in balance. He reached up, feeling for the hunter's arms. He gripped them tightly, then threw Matson into the other wall. Matson slid down it, landing on his head. He flipped around and stood up, but Victor was repeatedly punching the hunter's ribcage. Matson barked out cries here and there as the titan trapped him in the corner.
"Noo!!" Laurel shouted as she channeled energy and force pushed Victor away. Matson had collapsed to the floor, holding his stomach. Victor looked up to see the warlock lock the machine gun. She held the trigger and tore through his armor.
Laurel crouched down beside Matson. "Where are you hurt?" She asked.
"Don't worry about..." Matson winced as he shifted. "where I'm hurt... Just kill me. It'll get you an... extra point as well..."
"I'm not going to do that..." Laurel said soothingly. She focused simmering solar energy into her hand and held it to the hunter's chest. He winced from the pain, but, it soon it seemed to heal his wounds.
Matson coughed and blinked in amazement. "How... how did you do that?" He asked.
Laurel smiled behind her winged helmet, "It's just something I picked up in basic training..."
