Recently bought Elder Scrolls Online for cheap, any tips?

I bought ESO just the other day to preoccupy me for a bit; however, I never played any of the other Elder Scrolls games, so I'm figuratively blind going into this. Can anyone offer some advice on the game or some insight into the "plot" without spoiling too much? Any advice on races, classes, or anything of that sort? Any help is appreciated. Anything I should try to avoid? Is it festered with microtransactions?

Decide wether you want to be a Tank, DPS, or Healer so you can start unlocking what you need for endgame and not have to waste time later. DPS is the easiest way to play PvP and PvE, especially because if you're a Tank (me) and you have to fight through story missions, it takes a while. Don't bother getting armor sets or anything until after you get over lvl 50 (that's when you start accumulating CP ((champion points))). ALSO! Don't deflect crafting. Gather everything, and if you aren't using it, dismantle it. You will be crafting your own gear for the most part. And get into a guild. It's nice to have people always there. Build Master > http://deltiasgaming.com Basic Plot: Tamriel is shattered as three factions fight for the Imperial Throne. Meanwhile a daedric prince is plotting to invade/conquer Tamriel. You, the Hero, must save Tamriel from itself and beyond. Side notes: Micro-transactions are in the game, which you access through your menu. These are 100% cosmetic, the only ones that aren't are potions, which the ones you craft are more powerful than, and experience scrolls. You can get a potion that gives you more XP than those. You will never have to buy anything through micro-transactions. Also, Ebonheart Pact is the best faction in my opinion. You will get to play all 3 of the factions main stories, so don't worry about that. The Aldmeri Dominion has a really good story line, but I just don't like them. Daggerfall Covenant is sorta boring, and then Ebonheart Pact is really good. You will become good friends with people across your journeys, so be sure to go in order, and explore everything. Good luck!

    • It's very hard to explain this game to someone who just started playing. Just because there is so much. I'll give some tips but you don't have to follow them, it's all really up to you. So every class can be played as magicka or stamina, whichever you choose. Stamina people typically use dual wield and bow for best damage but also 2h, which is better for pvp. For magicka characters it's typically destructions staves and some use dual wield because it boosts stats but don't use any dual wield skills. Best races for stamina are khajiit and reguard, but orc is good too. Best for magicka is high elf, dark elf, and Breton is okay. But really you can use what you want, typically those are just the best. There's a lot with the game that you'll start understanding and learning different things. Just thought that stuff is good to know when starting out. Eso is very fun, and imo all the fun comes after the story when you hit level 50 and start getting champion points. So don't be like these other people and think the game is boring and pointless. Cause it's not, just gotta understand it really

    • Won't give any tips on class cause I have every class combination you can have besides stamina nightblade and magic dragon knight. I think they're all fun. And about the micro transactions, you do not need to buy anything from the crow store. All cosmetic, for the most part. But nothing Is pay to win
