Anyone miss playing Halo 3 back in the day? Like I mean back when it was really booming and so competitive
-
Who doesn't?
-
Heck yeah, I miss that game. Anyone else get the katana? it was the first thing I actually ever cared to grind for lol
-
Damn right I do. All these garbage Halo 4s and 5s. Halo 3 provided so much more entertainment.

The good ol' days when the community was at its peak. Machinimas, customs every night, tryharding in ranked, screwing around in social, co-op campaign, split screen parties, vidmaster achievements, Halo on Halo, race, foundry and sandbox forge maps, custom infection, fat kid, ice cream man, and so much more. What an amazing time it used to be. If only I could relive it.
-
Of course. It's my favourite game of all time.
-
Oh yeah. I think about it almost every day. Trying to get my 50. Hitting a wall. Then making a new account to blast through it all over again. All the people playing. No matter what, doesn't matter if you were emo, jock, skater, whatever, you played halo. Not to mention shit talk was at an all time high. There will never be another game like halo 3. The feeling of having a 49-50 game, loosing by one point, then hearing the other team shit talk, only to match them again, and this time you completely blow them out of the water, only to have all 4 of them instantly back out so they don't have to hear how big of a bitch they are. Those were the good ol days.

You think you are old? Halo 2 Kid here.
-
All the time. I especially miss game chat being full of people to talk to.

Edited by RC32: 11/21/2016 3:21:12 AMI'd miss school just to play it. It was the definitive example of competitive and casual multiplayer, plus a good conclusion to the old trilogy. Also, anyone remember these?

Everytime I hear the Halo 3 Main Theme It brings a tear to my eye...
Everytime... :(

Death is not The Sickness unto death. ~ Soren Kierkegaard
Every day after school would get online with friends and played/shared so many game modes. So many great race tracks/saw/duck hunt variants
-
I miss the old Halo games so much
-
Yea, at my best, I had some of the maps on lockdown. At one time, my bullets would always find your head.
-
Yea I miss making friends by parting up
-
Hell I miss all my first experiences with each halo title
-
I miss the times when people actually participated in custom games

I hate playing BTB on MCC. It's ALWAYS Halo 3 stand off. GIVE ME SOME HALO 2 BOIS

I look back on the times of Halo 3 very fondly. I do love it. I'll always love it. Starting up Halo 3 and simply sitting at the Main Menu is such a nostalgic experience on its own. No game will ever be quite like Halo 3, at least not for me. But I don't miss Halo 3. That was then. This is now. I'm thankful that I was able to experience it. Not just the game itself, but the community built around it. But everything must come to an end eventually. I enjoy the games I play today. And while they may not be quite as magical as Halo 3, I love them as well. But yes, I'll never forget Halo 3.

Yep they were the days. Rainbow Road in custom. Playing Fat Boy with friends. Trying to work up for that High Skill....yeah they were the days. Shame Halo 4 -blam!-ed them out the water..... but atleast Halo 5 is working it better and I can play again.
-
Halo 3's lone wolves playlist is still to this day filled with sweaty tryhards. But yes I miss it all, no game has ever gave me the same enjoyment since.

Freaking loved weekends after school with Halo 3. Weekend playlists and double exp with a community that was overall amazing. Pretty much everyone used mics, TALKED, and knew map callouts and were generally fun to play with. Now most peolle don't talk and when they do its to bitch or talk shit. Rarely in Halo 5 or MCC did i find people who didn't do one of those two things. Halo 3 had the best MM of any Halo title IMO. Back when Bungie cared about the community and banned cheaters. Now they're a shadow of their former self and Halo is in the hands of people who want to make Halo this hip series keeping up with the trends of other FPS titles. If they simply went back to Halo 3 style play id be like a fat kid in a candy store. Hell even if they simply made a playlist in the next title with no abilities what so ever im sure it would have an enormous population of players.

Definitely. I still occasionally put the disc in and jump on matchmaking for the sake of nostalgia but it always ends up leaving a bad taste in my mouth tbh, Halo 5 is pretty close to emulating the experience online but it just isn't the same. This thread does make me want to round up the friends I made online before '10 for a mad sesh though.

I've been on a Halo 3 nostalgia binge ever since last Tuesday. Currently I'm looking at picking up some old merch off of eBay or Amazon.
