I think this is how a Horde mode should be done in destiny 2:
* MatchMaking: 1-6 fireteams (or an option to go solo)
*No wave limits, basically an unlimited number of rounds/waves.
*Loot) at the end of each round a chest spawns that only drops rare and uncommon engrams. If you make it to the 10th wave the chest will spawn and drop rare, Legendary, and have a chance to drop exotic engrams, and the chest would spawn every ten rounds.
*revives) If a guardian dies you will have 1min to revive them, if you don't get to them in time you have to wait till the next round for the player to get back in.
*artifacts and vehicles) artifacts like scorch cannon's, the shield from vog, and hive knight swords will drop from majors or ultras. Vehicles like interceptors, pikes, heavy pikes, and new vehicles will spawn every 5-8 rounds.
*Objectives) every 2-3 rounds an objective will spawn like destroy the fallen walker, goliath tank, kill an ultra, defuse bomb, hold down an area, stop the minions of the dark from transmating a weapon, or stop the minions of the dark from summoning a warrior.
*Light levels) There should be a normal mode, a hard mode, and a max light mode for those who have hit max light.
Feel free to add to the list. Lets hope bungie sees this list and tries to put this in the next game.
Farewell Guardians.

I got my idea from halo reach's firefight mode. I think that kind of hoard mode would be good in Destiny with a few tweaks to make it enjoyable.
