It doesn't take a genius to realize that SBMM is inherently unfair and frustrating, just like round earth theory. Let me show the similarities: SBMM presupposes an environment in which only the best (elite) can prevail. Round earth theory is an idea everyone believes just because the elite (scientists) tell them it is true. In both cases the elite control the market, so to speak. In a crucible match SBMM pairs individuals together that fall within a certain skill range, yet someone with more skill inevitably ends up in the game making the entire match an infuriating sweat bath. Scientists control ideas by creating knowledge in their own image: their false front of knowledge prevails over the correct (but less aggressive) notions of common sense. Common sense can easily see that the horizon is not curved, and that the idea of a spherical planet perpetually moving through space at 67,000mph without a force to keep it moving is, well, just plain absurd. But just like the god tier player that owns the crucible, the elite "knowledge" of science smothers all rational common sense rebuttals to round earth error, by artificially producing an environment in which only the power of the elite can prevail.
As a Destiny player and a Planar Theorist, I want to see an in game environment in which everyone has a chance to win and become better. Just like I want to see a society in which knowledge of objective reality is not controlled by a priestly show of scientific knowledge, and that persuades people through a sense of religious awe. But rather one in which truth is given a chance to prevail over propaganda.
LIKE TO REMOVE SBMM FROM DESTINY, AND ROUND EARTH BIAS FROM SOCIETY.
