Destiny has never let us trade (and rightfully so)- but what if...just what if.. for one day out of the year, perhaps Christmas, we could gift one of our own beloved exotics to a friend in need. They could wake up on Christmas morning, and mom and dad maybe had a bad year financially- but I gift my spindle (and this makes their entire year!), and because it brings joy to children.
Realistically though, one time gift of any one item in your inventory to one friend only on Christmas. This certainly would not break the game. Merry Christmas Everyone! **Guardian down
EDIT 1: Suggestions made that legendary item should he an option instead of only exotic and I agree. Also gifting would require LOSING that weapon until you FIND it again, making it a true gift. (CapOrgan) (ashmansmithbob).
EDIT 2: In order to prevent mass exploitation and selling weapons on eBay, the person gifting and gifted to MUST HAVE BEEN FRIENDS IN-GAME FOR 3 MONTHS minimum prior to Christmas day.
+1 if you'd like this to be a real possibility- bungie does see these~!

shankburn is OP

I'd give at least 50 or more of my guns to any guardians in need because I need to empty my vault of year 2 guns and fill it with year 3 weapons. I have tons of good rolled weapons from iron banner and armsday which I'm willing to give away anytime.
-
I would gift an old friend of mine necrochasm or mythoclast because he never got the chance of getting it because his RNG sucks really bad.
-
Or people could just grind it out like the rest of us
-
Why would you give him spindle? That takes fifteen minutes tops to get. But this would be awesome because my friend Kevin would FINALLY get NLB
-
I play on PS4 with a very good friend of mine, he still hasn't got Jade Rabbit, I'd go as far as even purchasing one from my kiosk for him. This would never happen but its a good idea, it'd take a brand new mechanic to introduce this and nothing similar exists currently that could be altered to make it possible. That's a lot of work and money for a one day, one item, event.
-
Would be interesting
-
*Accidentally gives Outbreak Prime away thinking I can get it back from the kiosk* Crap
-
Naw, that is not going to work fam.
-
Heeeeeeeck no.
-
Bump but doubt it would happen.
-
No. You get blue engrams for christmas.
-
I like it! Make this happen BUNGIE!!!
-
I think it would work. On Christmas, you chose a few guns to give to a few friends. It will arrive at the postmaster, with a merry Christmas note from you. But you can only give one gun to each person one time.
-
Honestly, I think it'd be pretty cool now that I think about it. One of my best friends on Xbox never got a Black Hammer and it pissed him off to no end every week until the point that he didn't even wanna play Crota anymore, and he never did. So I feel like it'd be a pretty cool gift to give him my Black Hammer. Not really so he could use it because obviously its useless at this point, but more as a "token of friendship" type of thing. Idk, I feel like it'd be kinda cool to do.

Edited by SwiftBMF: 11/11/2016 1:48:59 AMNo definatly not its too OP nerf it. You deserve nothing you entitled whiney scrub. OMG your k/d sucks you suck.

Edited by Swiftlock: 11/10/2016 1:23:37 AMUsing this as a mechanic that allows others to bypass quests and challenges or artificially boost light levels would be unfair. Gifting exotics would be acceptable IF the gifts followed two specific criteria: 1. Only exotics that can be earned via RNG can be gifted. (No Spindles, Outbreak Primes, Dark Drinkers, Necrochasms, Sleeper Simulants, etc.) 2. Gifted exotics will be automatically set down to the lowest possible light level.
-
I wanted to say I would gift the Dark Drinker to my friend, till I saw your edit that you will lose the item and have to find it again. So I have to do the quest again? Hell no, sorry friend, I hated collecting those materials.
-
All I want is a pair of boots. How hard could it be?
-
What is this thing you call friend? Can I eat it?
-
Every country doesnt celebrate xmas..so no
-
The light level should be level 3 though.
so no one that's 340 gets a 400 primary
-
By far one of the worst posts I've ever seen on here.
-
I would gladly gift a bunch of exotics for an Hardlight.
-
Beloved.... mmm that's a stretch.

Jade rabbit pleease
