Once again about DA, my question now being about the choice between the Templars and Mages, I need your help to decide which one choose.
Now, I don't want you to choose for me, just tell me the facts like if you were asking a npc about personal information, faction information, etc
The short way I see things now it's:
Mages: just want to be free but there's a problem, some of then are like bombs with a timer set to detonate "you can't punish all because of the mistakes of a few"
Templars: always have been a bully on the mages but with a good-ish reason? (the time set bomb mages) to keep some mages in check but the others (innocent) suffer from that
"you can't punish all because of the mistakes of a few"
TL;DR help me decide which faction choose without spoilers or deciding for me (you can mention any spoiler from DA origins and DA II)

From a logical stand point Templars are the best option. If you were building an army to save the world from demons you'd pick Templars. Templars: •Counter magic •Are trained soldiers •Have discipline •Can be controlled through being denied Lyrium •Many nobles send their extra sons to join the templars to avoid fights over succession granting many political ties Mages: •Can be possessed. •Powers are unstable with the breach around. •Are an oppressed people, and therefore many resent society •Many have no experience working with normal soldiers

Templars all the way. Even if I play as a mage I still choose them
-
I chose mages because I always go with spellcasters in any game

Edited by KrayZSamurai: 11/8/2016 2:25:10 PMMAGES!! People only fear mages because they fear the blood magic. Anders most certainly didn't help with the whole "fearing mages" thing in DA: II. Mages are basically treated like people who are nothing more than terrorists and common thugs. They have to live in constant fear of being caught by the Templars. They can't perform their magic without the fear of having someone rat them out. There's also the part where if ONE Mage happens to do something bad, then the whole Mage population ends up being blamed. They are put into these Circles to be monitored and kept under control. That's a form of segregation as well as racism (in a sense). Mages are also very adept at calling upon spirits and such to help fight demons. Now, there will be the occasional Mage who will call upon a demon (Example: Merrill from DA: II) but the good Mages won't call on them unless they have to or unless they know what they're doing.

The mages had the better faction mission or what ever you call it but both are good either way.

Played this three times now and I've picked to side with mage s every time. As much as wanted to see the templer side just once I couldn't do it. There straight up just wrong to me. Every one deserves freedom no matter what ability they were BORN with. It's not like they choose to be a mage. You know who's really to blame here! Religion! Everyone should abandon the makers teachings

Well, they were dicks in both Origins and II, though mainly II.. they essentially cage the circle mages in towers to "protect" them from themselves.. and for those that try to live normal lives, they're branded apostates and are essentially killed on sight by the more extreme members of the order. Though I usually support mages more than templars (went with mage in origins and inquisition), so this may be highly opinionated.

Templars. They look badass and I love reforming them into the Seekers in the ending. The only reason why they act like dicks is because of the corruption of Red Lyrium.

Templars>filthycasuls

I chose mages. Better cutscene. Plus id rather fight templars than filthy mages. They were douchey anyways so they fit better as villans.

Templars all the way.
