Some Story Things Destiny Lacked that Destiny 2 Should Address

I think we can all safely say that Vanilla Destiny's Story was hilariously bad. It was missing...well...a STORY. That being said Bungie has picked up the ball with TTK and RoI (in some cases). I just wanted to talk about a couple things Destiny missed out on that Destiny 2 needs to make sure it has. (This is not in any particular order) 1. Our Guardian I always end up getting mad about this one. Our Guardian is quiet most of the time which is fine. That being said there are times in which they should...you know...SPEAK!! Our Guardian has simply stopped talking completely ever since the end of Vanilla Destiny's story. Now some people have say that the character is quiet because bungie doesn't want to force a personality on your character which I can accept. That being said, making the guardian completely silent even when spoken to can go against ones personality. Bungie is doing the very thing they are trying to avoid. They are essentially forcing you to be this silent rude fellow that never answers ANYONE. Right now with the lack of dialogue I don't feel like the characters have any sort of bond to me nor I to them (except Cayde-6...Cayde-6 is awesome). The Guardian is literally just a pawn that is pointed at one unfortunate groups of enemies to another. Destiny 2 should try doing something where your character has the option to speak or to stay silent. If you choose to stay silent your ghost will simply say what you would have said and if you choose to speak then you do just that. Perhaps even give the character a couple lines to choose from so that players may go back to see any differences in NPC dialogue that result from your choice which will increase reasons to come back and play the story. This also can potentially expand the personality of NPCs. 2. A REAL Enemy Destiny doesn't really have a REAL enemy. By "real enemy" I mean like an individual that actually we have a reason to hate or want to beat them. Oryx was a good step forward by having an actual villain that had a beef with us but what beef did we have with him? I never really felt like I had any personal problem with Oryx himself (However this was a step in the right direction nonetheless). Another problem Destiny has is that there is no long lasting enemy unless you count the Darkness which we have yet to even know it's purpose. Beating enemies SO quickly does a disservice of the enemy. Story wise, it felt like we beat Oryx in a week and that me being nice. This does make Oryx seem a lot weaker than he really is. I mean seriously, Oryx is a Hive GOD and yet here we come and bitch slap his ass to Saturn (That does however make us seem more badass lol). Destiny 2 should have an enemy that actually EARNS our hatred and/or desire to defeat them. Perhaps you can have someone you trust, and respect, betray you for certain reasons. That would provide a good reason to want to defeat them. 3. Characters Right now, you can have most of these characters killed off right in front of me and I wouldn't bat an eye. Cayde-6 and the Ghost are probably the only ones really worth caring about because out of all the NPCs they have the most development. The speaker? Who the hell is that? The Stranger? Was that the robot chick that said "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain? The Traveler? You mean that golf ball in the sky?" I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten that these characters even existed and that's saying something. Destiny 2 needs to have characters that actually contribute something important to the plot. Have characters that accompany you in missions. You did that sort of stuff in Halo don't be afraid to try it here. Have the mission load up in an area where other players doing patrols won't come across you if that what you're worried about. The fact that most people don't care much about the NPCs in the game should NOT sit well with you. 4. Cutscenes To be honest isn't not that the cutscenes aren't good, in fact the look great! That being said we have so few of them and most of them are simply cutscenes where people are just telling us to "go to this place" or "go "talk" ( More like listen actually) to that person". Destiny needs more action scenes! Seeing Jolder in the replication chamber was amazing even if it was short. It would be awesome to see guardians in action, using their abilities in a cutscene. Destiny 2 simply needs more cutscenes. Have one before and after most missions. Try not to make them always about someone telling us to go somewhere. Have more action!! TL;DR (If you want specifics read the text) 1. Let our guardian have the option to speak or stay silent in some cutscenes. 2. Have REAL enemies that actually have a connection to the player and make them long lasting. 3. Improve character development of NPCs. Have them contribute more to the main story 4. MORE CUTSCENES. MORE ACTION CUTSCENES Anyways there a lot more I can talk about but my hands are rather tired. Some people may think I hate this game but that couldn't be further from the truth. I love this game. I play it all the time and I intend to keep playing it. However sometimes you have to criticize things if you want to see them improve. Anyway what do you think Bungie should do for Destiny 2's story? Write down your thought below.

 • Destiny is supposed to be maintained for a very long time. 10 years I think. Don't expect any exciting revelations or details this far in
