Bungie, please tell us we're going to be able to take our guardians (or at least our progress) into Destiny 2.

I love Destiny, I've spent so much time on it, collecting armor and weapons, participating in events, levelling subclasses...I want to be able to carry my progress over to the next game. I want my subclasses, my weapons, my armor, my ghost shells, artifacts, exotic blueprints, emblems, shaders, all that stuff. Even our level could be transferred in the form of some kind of temporary XP boost. There are a few issues I can see with you implementing this, and I'd like to go over them briefly. Workload & Money I know it's going to be a lot of work to program the old weapons and subclasses into the new system you got...but it's something I believe is necessary. Besides, if there are 3 new subclasses for each class in D2, that's like 18 subclasses total and that's badass AF. If an increased workload is an issue, then pay your employees more money to compensate. If money is an issue, then maybe have some kind of farewell to Destiny 1 event with microtransactions. I know people have reacted badly to it in the past...but I think they'd appreciate it a lot if you straight up told them what the money was for. You could even donate a portion of the money to charity or something. I'd be willing to donate some money if it meant Destiny 2 was as great as it possible could be. Balance Obviously, if we had all our Destiny 1 stuff from the outset, we'd have a game-breaking advantage over people that started in Destiny 2. For this reason, all of our imported stuff (minus purely cosmetic things like emblems and shaders) would be inaccessible until we met certain criteria. This way, people from Destiny 1 would be forced to play using their Destiny 2 gear until they'd gotten to a point where those who started with Destiny 2 would have enough gear to viably compete with them. In-game explanation How did our new guardian get all this new gear? And abilities that wouldn't normally be accessible to them? Well, for the gear, maybe it's been left for them by "a friend". As for the abilities, maybe they must be re-unlocked (possibly via quests similar to the subclass ones in TTK, but also accessible to new players in D2), but once they are unlocked all the progress from the previous guardian is granted to them immediately. Why it's important To reiterate what I said at the start, we've put so much effort into building these guardians of ours...nothing would be more of a kick in the balls than for it to all mean nothing once the new game drops.
