Local network connectivity broken ... for months
No, I don't want to hear about turning off NAT acceleration. That's not even an option on our router. The facts are that prior to updates pushed out in June, this worked just fine. My son and I could play Destiny together and under the same roof. Then the June updates were pushed through and things went to hell. Subsequent updates have not made things better, only worse. Just after the June updates, rebooting the consoles in our home would "fix" this issue. Now, not even an entire home-wide reset does the trick. My son and I can no longer play Destiny together..
#Cosmo, please give us an update. No, I don't want a forum moderator on this. This needs to come from Bungie. What is the issue? Why did the June update break this functionality? Why have subsequent updates (and the stated fixes) only made this matter worse? Is Bungie even focusing on this issue?
It's not us, it's Bungie. Bungie has admitted as much. It's been months with this broken. "Destiny is best played with friends" is something Bungie has touted since day one. Perhaps Bungie marketing should include, "... as long as they aren't under the same roof."

8 RepliesSo this is a work around that seems to work 100% of the time. Trust me when I say I have tried EVERYTHING else! 1. Both players load the game and go to the tower. 2. Both player at the same time press the XBOX button and quit the game. 3. Both players at the same time start destiny again and this should generate a 'WEASEL' error. This should usually happen to both players. 4. Close the error and continue to selecting your characters. 5. You should now be able to join the same fireteam team. I know it's a ball ache it this does genuinely work. You can even leave the fireteam after and you will have no issues rejoining. This is a fix for as long as you are online but the next time you play you will have to do this again. Just goes to show that this is truly a bungie issue as to get this to work no changes to any network settings need to happen. Hope this helps.
