I have this cool throwing knife on my Gunslinger which is setup with knife juggler. Because it's fun sticking an enemy in the face with a knife only to have it recharge so I can do it again.
I picked up the "Old Wolf, New Tricks" quest for this week's Festival of the Lost, and was excited that I would be able to move through it pretty quickly while enjoying some time using the good 'ol throwing knife to get my solar kills.
Turns out, solar throwing knives don't count toward solar kills. Maybe it's always been like this, I'm not sure, I don't use Gunslinger too often. But it seems ridiculous that when I need to get solar kills for a quest, bounty, or anything else, I can't use one of the best and most fun weapons that sub-class uses.
After running around happily throwing knives in the faces of anything standing in my way for 15 minutes, my counter for the quest was at 2 kills from throwing a grenade after missing the critical and not getting the recharge. I almost threw my controller through the wall.
Bungie, Deej, or f*ckin' anyone, please explain the logic behind solar throwing knives not counting as solar kills.
Are you trying to be assholes?
Do you think it's too big of an advantage for Hunters when getting solar kills?
If so, does it now seem fair that Gunslingers can only use their super and grenades to get those kills now, not only slowing the pace to that of other classes, but now taking the longest to get solar kills?
I play other classes, but my Hunter is my main character and the one I enjoy playing the most, at least until I noticed this steaming pile of horseshit.
Why have a throwing knife if it is regularly useless for completing anything?

I was gonna make a post about this too. I went around thrwoing knives into thrall skulls for almost an hour before I realized that throwing knives weren't counting for solar kills. Granted I probably should have stopped way before an hour passed but when you're stringing headshot after headshot with throwing knives you sorta lose touch with any and all reasoning in your brain.
