Honestly, it's not even the failing that annoys me with the door it's the fact that it's completely solid until it's 'open.' This despite the fact that the tail end of the animation has the door completely open but for a few stray side threads, but [i]THOU MUST WAIT[/i] for it to finish before you can move through.
If it took the exact same amount of time to open, but was visibly and obviously closed until that point I'd be okay with it.

what don't enjoy trying to run through the opening in the door only to have a thread as thin as a pube keeping you from entering?

This! It should open instantly imo, I mean the animation is nice and all but when it forms an invisible barrier until it completely vanishes is dumb and wastes precious time.

Or at least animate 2x the speed it currently is.
