Archon's Forge needs at least one thing changed, the event time out

Edit: I really don't understand the down votes, I knew the general community was generally against the well being of solo players, but this is a little ridiculous. If you are going to design the follow on to Court of Oryx to be Archon's Forge, it is a nice design in general and I do enjoy playing it. HOWEVER, there are things that NEED to change. Beyond the changes that the community have already cried for like stackable SIVA offerings, the little things matter the most. If I'm too lazy to LFG or pull friends into a fireteam to run Archon's Forge and I don't have a Perfected offering (read: it's either fused or enhanced) and I want to solo the public event, which is easy to do, I shouldn't have to worry about dying wasting any efforts of farming the offering and starting the event. Honestly... If I'm absolute and I try to duck around a corner only to find a silent exploding shank that was staring at the ceiling or floor is triggered and kills me, I should have enough time to respawn (5 seconds on the counter), get the splicer key into the kiosk, have the door open, and drop back into the arena with at least 15-20 seconds to spare before the event ends.... The timer is so short that the damned door doesnt even open fast enough to the point you can barely see the fallen before the encounter ends. Right now the encounter times out with no one in the arena at about 10-15 seconds.... Just boost that time out to 30 seconds and we are all good. Court of Oryx only gives you 20 seconds but you can walk right through the door (you respawn at about 11 seconds to return to the arena and can run through the door within 4-5 seconds leaving you 6-7 seconds to be slow at life and still continue the encounter). Also, if you fail in the court of oryx you keep your rune.... This issue of Bungie making it take too long to be able to spawn back in and open the door wouldnt be so bad and almost no-one would complain about it (looking at solo players that spawn into an empty Archon's Forge) if we were able to keep the SIVA charges if we fail... Fix this Bungie! P.s. I had a topic on this yesterday in feedback but some jackwagon down voted it into obscurity within minutes of the thread being created... his solution was "just don't die" which is fine and dandy but that's not a solution to the issue.

    The door does need to open faster , not from a solo pov, just in general. It's kinda silly that the animation takes that damn long to open it. Also, I am annoyed at he fact that a public location on a map has people needing to use LfG, dumb. I should be able to walk into the forge and find ppl. There are numerous asshats all over patrol acting like Mr.Steal your Axe, why aren't there any in the forge? The forge is an awesome concept, but after CoO you'd think Bungie would've figured out , "🤔 hey, maybe we should tweak the Forge so it is not a ghost town like CoO?" Other Bungie employee:" no we should make them walk crouched very slowly all over the map so they can join. Haha! We told them we wanted them to play this game with ppl, force them to use the app and LFG to partake in public events." 😩smh.

      What a joke. Archons forge is so easy. You can repeat it for hours as long as you have 3-5 people there. Which happens pretty much all the time when you use the "back through the cave slowly" method

      • I've had it were I joined an in progress match and presented my key. The door opened halfway and I was never able to join the match. It's a bit buggy and it would be nice to see them address some of the issues it has.

        Your idea is not bad it is just not really needed. I never have come across this issue but fully understand that your experience and mines can be totaly different.Crouch into AF..do not run or ride sparrow..i have finished all of shiros bounties with ease across 3 toons since RIO..plus it is alot of fun too..best of luck.

          • If you walk straight passed the Forge into the cave on the other side you come to a new area. Kill one enemy then slowly walk back to the Forge. This matchmakers teams far better than just walking in. 9 times out of 10 it is full of people. Just join. There is a general antagonism towards solo players on these forums which I have never quite understood. Just ignore it, you paid your money just like everyone else.

              • I remember dying in the court and I had to run back into the public event. It cost me precious time. I hate how court of oryx runes stack and can be held in multiples. I wish only one could be held of any type. I loved how no one was ever in the court of oryx but now I can always find action in AF. Always if I slow walk. Always.

              • Tje idea of the forge is when you die you fail. At least wait for another player so that you can res yourself and not worry about the event ending.

                • First of all, the forge is not meant to be a solo activity. You just need to make sure that when you enter it that you do not run or ride a sparrow. Walk slowly. This will give the matchmaking mechanic time to get you into one that has other players in it. Second. You have plenty of time to complete a fused and enhanced solo. You have to be mobile and use the various points of cover to your advantage. Also be sure to shoot and destroy the siva cluster that spawns in the dome when your worth is being tested. Then be sure to grab the ax and use it.

                      • I have no problem ever soloing the Forge. But when I do die it's always because of one little thing. THE EXPLODING SHANK! Every single death when I'm solo is because of those stupid shanks. It's the only enemy you need to worry about and I actually only complete perfected offerings about 50% of the time when solo simply because one of them is going to get behind me at some point and explode. I hate them.

                        • I don't think the two fraises of too lazy to lfg and Solo the Forge should be in the same argument. My points; You could literally just sparrow in and out of the room until you have other players in there. Soloing perfected offerings should be a challenge to most players (at least until your 400 light) So although I think theirs no harm in some tuning that is needed in the Forge, your argument does need some tweaks too ;) The real tweaks I'd like to see are more weapon type rewards and more boss fights in Forge

                          • Also they don't want offerings to stack because the forge is an easy place to level up if you get in there with 3 or more people. You can stay for 2 hours and really load up on all sorts of loot.
