Edit: I really don't understand the down votes, I knew the general community was generally against the well being of solo players, but this is a little ridiculous.
If you are going to design the follow on to Court of Oryx to be Archon's Forge, it is a nice design in general and I do enjoy playing it.
HOWEVER, there are things that NEED to change. Beyond the changes that the community have already cried for like stackable SIVA offerings, the little things matter the most. If I'm too lazy to LFG or pull friends into a fireteam to run Archon's Forge and I don't have a Perfected offering (read: it's either fused or enhanced) and I want to solo the public event, which is easy to do, I shouldn't have to worry about dying wasting any efforts of farming the offering and starting the event. Honestly... If I'm absolute and I try to duck around a corner only to find a silent exploding shank that was staring at the ceiling or floor is triggered and kills me, I should have enough time to respawn (5 seconds on the counter), get the splicer key into the kiosk, have the door open, and drop back into the arena with at least 15-20 seconds to spare before the event ends.... The timer is so short that the damned door doesnt even open fast enough to the point you can barely see the fallen before the encounter ends. Right now the encounter times out with no one in the arena at about 10-15 seconds.... Just boost that time out to 30 seconds and we are all good. Court of Oryx only gives you 20 seconds but you can walk right through the door (you respawn at about 11 seconds to return to the arena and can run through the door within 4-5 seconds leaving you 6-7 seconds to be slow at life and still continue the encounter). Also, if you fail in the court of oryx you keep your rune....
This issue of Bungie making it take too long to be able to spawn back in and open the door wouldnt be so bad and almost no-one would complain about it (looking at solo players that spawn into an empty Archon's Forge) if we were able to keep the SIVA charges if we fail...
Fix this Bungie!
P.s. I had a topic on this yesterday in feedback but some jackwagon down voted it into obscurity within minutes of the thread being created... his solution was "just don't die" which is fine and dandy but that's not a solution to the issue.

I don't know but I prefer running it even with random players, to alone, so don't usualy have a problem with the time out. but spawning into a different instance to players running up the stairs alongside me does grind my gears... But that said I find that if I sit and organise my inventory for a minute or two at the terminal I'll soon get a group of buddies! However even if you could only hold one of each type of offering that'd be a massive improvement on the one, seriously one??? Bungie, Make them take a whole slot if you really want to keep the numbers down, the reward drop of anything good makes grinding strikes more profitable if that's the concern. I just like it for the fast paced manic killing sprees and chaining of supers with raining orbs and flaming axes of doom that a group of guardians having fun create!

Sorry, bad idea

I solo fused and enhanced offerings all the time when I do that "good deeds" quest for the artifacts. Just stand on top of the big dome to the right and use it for cover. Shanks won't climb it, snipers can't hit you and it's very rare that the enemies will go behind it. I just dismantle the perfected offerings unless some passer buyers happen to join me. High impact scouts and snipers are your friend, friend.
-
Lol you guys can't be serious. Exploder shank shouldn't explode when hit with axe - hahaha why not? If you hit an explosive with axe what will happen? Don't die if you care about finishing forge. Or if you can't help dying, don't play solo. Or at least find a forge with multiple people.

There's so many things that they can improve on for this. 1. Crawling into it in order to find other players. 2. The time it takes to open that damned door. 3. The way when you approach a closed doors and walk to the lock to enter a siva key and get no prompt. So you step back and reapproach and still nothing. You turn to look at the door only to see it slowly closing again. Turns out that the first key was entered but no notifications were given. 4. Someone with an axe dies and you try to get them up quickly. Nope. You're picking up their axe even though you already hold an axe 5. The people who sit at the back and contribute nothing to the fight still collect rewards.

I think a more useful fix would be to fix the matchmaking for the forge. It should ALWAYS try to match single players with groups of 5. In general, the matchmaking should try to max out the amount of players in the forge area. Also, we should be able to go directly there from orbit with a fireteam of 6. They can make sure you don't get into patrol as a team of 6 by adding a locked door.
I'm still unsure why they want to cap patrol fireteam at 3 players anyways.
Needs more encounters too, its already all been done over and over and is now pretty boring. I suggest at least a new Yellow SIVA Offering, with a higher light level, and new boss types, either Splicerpriest or Archpriest designs.

so... nerf fusion rifles?

Edited by HennessyHeor: 10/21/2016 4:42:16 AMMy real only issue with the forge is the drop rate for the armor. Well over 100 completions in the past 2 days and still no Dream Eater Mask >_<
-
I wish they would add a 15 second delay after you beat an offering just to have time to delete greens before someone starts the next one

forum trolls strive to be the 1st response team on the forums. how do you identify a troll? trolls cannot resist saying certain things....most notably they have a key phrase that that the love to excrete into text form. This excrement more often than not either amounts to or is clearly stated as "Git Gud Scrub" which google translate has helped to clarify from a crude troglodyte syntax to meaning "to enhance one's performance" which as anyone with an email account knows the "performance enhancement" post are NOT to be click on for any reason. for further info please see definition of: Email SPAM

What really needs to be changed is the stupid crouch walk in order to have more than one guardian in the forge. Its dumb
-
I'm generally quite luck with the forge. I start an event and about a minute in, I get another person running around destroying the fallen.
-
This community will never agree to what you say no matter what you say most of them are jerk / 2 years old kids who like to ruin people's ideas
-
Just need to fix the opening the door tine after respawn.
-
As a solo player this game hates me and I accept that. I know that my love shall forever be unrequited.
-
Agree with OPs point and also, the stupid domes close too damn fast when it ends. I can never seem to get my stuff outta there.
-
Edited by Jonnnys: 10/21/2016 6:44:00 AMI go to the forge as a solo player a lot and there's always somebody there, if not walk out and back in. As for sivas I find that I get plenty drop on the floor, I pop one in and go pick up another. There were 8 of us yesterday. It was chaos we stayed for about 2 hours.
-
this is obviously intentional and good design intended to increase the grind. which is perfectly fine.
-
The timer is a little short indeed, and the big problem is the "door" that takes ages to open. The Forge is not meant to played solo, but this "fail because of the timer" is a frequent problem for groups too. It should be reworked a bit.
-
The siva offerings rain like candy and if you don't have one just find a quarantine patrol for a guarantees offering. Every time I go in there 3 or 4 other people show up and we wreck house for an hour or so. Never had any issue myself. I think it's working perfectly.
-
I don't like the limited amount of time if your group wipes. 3 of us were in earlier and all 3 died. I respawned and opened the door as the 3rd died, we ran back in and killed the boss and it said we failed!
-
Time limit aint an issue on enhanced or fused runs. On solo perfected runs, it is. Recommend wait for at least 2 other players to make a perfected fight or just use the lower offerings. Still wouldn't mind these ideas you mentioned.

Don't sprint into the room or ride a sparrow if you slowly walk in there are (in my experience 5/5 times) always people in there to help out so you don't have to solo it
-
My problem is that every time I do go to Archon's Forge, it's empty. I have to wait and wait for more players.
