Edit: I really don't understand the down votes, I knew the general community was generally against the well being of solo players, but this is a little ridiculous.
If you are going to design the follow on to Court of Oryx to be Archon's Forge, it is a nice design in general and I do enjoy playing it.
HOWEVER, there are things that NEED to change. Beyond the changes that the community have already cried for like stackable SIVA offerings, the little things matter the most. If I'm too lazy to LFG or pull friends into a fireteam to run Archon's Forge and I don't have a Perfected offering (read: it's either fused or enhanced) and I want to solo the public event, which is easy to do, I shouldn't have to worry about dying wasting any efforts of farming the offering and starting the event. Honestly... If I'm absolute and I try to duck around a corner only to find a silent exploding shank that was staring at the ceiling or floor is triggered and kills me, I should have enough time to respawn (5 seconds on the counter), get the splicer key into the kiosk, have the door open, and drop back into the arena with at least 15-20 seconds to spare before the event ends.... The timer is so short that the damned door doesnt even open fast enough to the point you can barely see the fallen before the encounter ends. Right now the encounter times out with no one in the arena at about 10-15 seconds.... Just boost that time out to 30 seconds and we are all good. Court of Oryx only gives you 20 seconds but you can walk right through the door (you respawn at about 11 seconds to return to the arena and can run through the door within 4-5 seconds leaving you 6-7 seconds to be slow at life and still continue the encounter). Also, if you fail in the court of oryx you keep your rune....
This issue of Bungie making it take too long to be able to spawn back in and open the door wouldnt be so bad and almost no-one would complain about it (looking at solo players that spawn into an empty Archon's Forge) if we were able to keep the SIVA charges if we fail...
Fix this Bungie!
P.s. I had a topic on this yesterday in feedback but some jackwagon down voted it into obscurity within minutes of the thread being created... his solution was "just don't die" which is fine and dandy but that's not a solution to the issue.

I'll never understand why there's solo players for this game. Like ffs this isn't a solo game
-
Agreed, I wanted to try it the first time solo, 2 offerings waisted....one for not knowing you had like 5 seconds to get into the arena and another when I died and couldn't get back fast enough. Screw it for now, I'm at 390 and haven't had to farm, grind or do the raid.
-
I don't see anything wrong with the current Archon's Forge. No exuse for not having splicer keys. For everything else, I guess just git gud.

As far as no one there, you just have to crouch when u enter hallway after the 2 fallen and eye when u enter, and slowly walk down hallway to forge, streamer had peeps there 9 out of 10 times. I've done this several times, and yes, sometimes no one there, most the time, 2 to 4 are there. I agree if all die, it shouldn't just end, there should be some time given for the respawned guardian to get back in. Too many times I've been in there with several guardians, for whatever reason all die, and there is no time allowed to get back in. There are tons of mobs on a perfected, and at anytime, ( especially when the boss is almost dead) all seem to die for some bs reason, then it ends. It's a blast when u have the peeps, more fun the CoO, the "dick you" factor that happens way often is bs. No matter how badass u are, those factors will kill you. Which is all good, IF you had at least 15 seconds more of a timer to wait for the bs door animation to finish to jump back in.

I run solo mostly. If the forge is empty jump down and go through the tunnel that leads to The Warrens. Kill a fallen or two then turn back around and go back to the forge. More often than not there is an event already started with plenty of other guardians glad to help out.

Don't understand why you're playing it solo. If you enter the area slowly you'll pop in with others. Playing with 3 or more people fixes all problems peiole have with archons forhe and meeting randoms in there is easy enough to do. I would rather see patrols opened up to fire teams of 6 so I can bring more of my friends in with me.
-
GODDAMMIT, YES!
-
I don't think a change is really needed. Get better or don't solo. A refund for a failed attempt would be fair at least for a perfected
-
Down voted. Sorry.
-
Funny story, I once died seconds before I killed the boss. So I respawned and opened the door. Just as he was about to start teleporting away, I killed him with a rocket and won. It was awesome.
-
The SIVA screen needs to drop way faster. It takes way too -blam!-ing long to get back into the arena. Also, you shouldn't lose your offering if you fail, and you should be able to hold multiple offerings.
-
A change I'd like is for a further delay until the SIVA wall comes up after placing an offering. The first time I placed an offering I was locked out of my own event. Now I sprint into the arena after placing it but other people with me have been locked out before because it took them too long to to take a few steps. This time should be tripled.

I made a few posts like this before also, I agree

Edited by Cosmic Zaa: 10/21/2016 5:18:54 PMIt has NO "get back into the arena" timer. If all guardians die, thats it
-
This has probably already been said, but I like how there is no timer and if everyone dies then its game over. But at least let us keep our purple Perfected offerings if we fail. Those are the best ones!!

Edited by Penhalion Wolfe: 10/21/2016 12:18:33 PM1. Timer for event cancel needs to change definitely! 2. Door should NOT be solid for the one who used the Offering! 3. Prioritise Revive over pickup (how the heck is this still a thing after 3 years?) 4. Stop creating single person instances of the f$%king forge! I can run up the stairs on patrol with two other players behind me and we ALL spawn in different instances of the Forge! F$%k OFF! If I go back to the main area again I will see those same players running back just like me so clearly you f#$king know we are on the same planet instance!

Edited by Aulakauss: 10/21/2016 8:47:51 AMHonestly, it's not even the failing that annoys me with the door it's the fact that it's completely solid until it's 'open.' This despite the fact that the tail end of the animation has the door completely open but for a few stray side threads, but THOU MUST WAIT for it to finish before you can move through. If it took the exact same amount of time to open, but was visibly and obviously closed until that point I'd be okay with it.
-
Bungie does not test its own game for solo players. They have some bizarre desire or need to punish solo players at every turn.
-
This is even a problem with groups. Me and my step father ran it with 2 others in perfected had the boss half hp when we all died not I spawned in just as the last man died. The door took so long to open that even having spawned as the last man died we still didn't get it
-
Jeez all that for a whiny post about the respawn timer being too short......
-
Edited by Elron Cupboard: 10/21/2016 5:01:57 PMIt's not supposed to be something you can solo. If you do, congratulations, but if you don't have the skills to stay alive you don't get rewards, simple as that. It's not gonna hold your hand.
-
There's no problem with the current forge, don't make it easier than it already is
-
Does the "Questing Shell" ghost only drop once per week or something? I had one a few days ago but farming for a second one isnt working out
-
Literally have no idea why people are complaining about the forge. Yes. It's often empty. So? Just keep going back and forth between areas. I'm a solo player. Never had any trouble with the Forge. I only get what I expect from it. Most of the time it's empty, but I just need to go further down near Site 6 then come back up. If no ones there, try again. Fireteam isn't required.
-
so pvp was nerfed too much people moved on to pve?
-
I don't know but I prefer running it even with random players, to alone, so don't usualy have a problem with the time out. but spawning into a different instance to players running up the stairs alongside me does grind my gears... But that said I find that if I sit and organise my inventory for a minute or two at the terminal I'll soon get a group of buddies! However even if you could only hold one of each type of offering that'd be a massive improvement on the one, seriously one??? Bungie, Make them take a whole slot if you really want to keep the numbers down, the reward drop of anything good makes grinding strikes more profitable if that's the concern. I just like it for the fast paced manic killing sprees and chaining of supers with raining orbs and flaming axes of doom that a group of guardians having fun create!
