[b][u]Light’s Tricon: Yuri[/u][/b] Fireteam Spitfire landed in the tower and went about their duties. Taravax-7 went off to deliver the record to Lakshmi-2. Iris went off to deliver the record to Ikora. Yuri went off to the den with Cayde-6 and a group of friends. Cayde-6 and Yuri slipped away as soon as Taravax went up to the Future War Cult’s room. Cayde-6: Holiday, we’re taking off. Holiday: Yeah yeah, “I never saw you leave”. Yuri: Thanks doll. Holiday smirked and rolled her eyes, then went back to fixing a sparrow. Yuri and Cayde-6 got in their ships and quickly made a jump for the cosmodrome. Within a few moments, they were in the steppe. Cayde-6: Ahhh-it’s great to be out of the tower. So, how’ve you been Yuri? Yuri: Pretty good. Cayde-6: That new monarchy gig workin’ out for ya? Yuri: Yeah, pays pretty nice considering I don’t have to do much. One monthly meeting, we vote on some things, break for lunch, then take off again. Other than that, just gotta “spread the word of New Monarchy.” Cayde-6: What’d I tell ya? Isn’t it weird though, one your fireteam members being Dead Orbit and the other FWC? Yuri: If one wants to run until the end, let ‘em run. If one wants to go out in a blaze of glory, no reason to stop ‘em. Me? If FWC’s visions are true, I’d rather just kick it back in a recliner with a cold one in my hand. Cayde-6: Relaxed til the very end. I like your style. Yuri nodded his head and looked off into the distance. Cayde-6: Uh oh. Yuri: What? Cayde-6: You always look blankly off into the distance when you’re thinking deep. Yuri: Nah, I wasn- Cayde-6: Come ooon, you can talk with me. Yuri: You ever hear something sometimes? Like...a voice in your head? Cayde-6: Well, there’s my ghost and the tiny voice in the back of my head that reminds me how mind numbing the tower is. Does that count? Yuri: It’s not my ghost. It’s too real to be my imagination. It’s…..like something beyond my power. It gives me a heads up on things, like a sort of...clairvoyance. I can hear it, but I don’t know where it’s coming from. Cayde-6: I believe that’s what the great hunters call “instinct” or "your gut.” Feels like someone’s always got your back, even though it’s just you. Yuri: Sounds like a group project when you're paired with lazy people. Yuri stared off into the distance again. A red light on Cayde-6’s belt started to glow. Cayde-6 groaned. Cayde-6: Welp, looks like they know we’re not in the tower. Holiday alarm went off. Yuri: Holiday alarm? Cayde-6: Literally just an old pager that I put to better use. Told Holiday to give me a heads up on when people ask where I've went. Thus, the Holiday alarm was born. Yuri: Thus? Don’t think you’ve ever used that word before. Cayde-6: Ikora says it’s good to have an expanded vocab. And I agree. Yuri’s comm buzzed. Yuri: Looks like our party‘s gettin’ crashed. It’s Taravax. Yuri clicked opened the feed. Taravax-7: Where are you? Yuri: In the den. Taravax-7: So the steppe is part of the den now? Cayde-6 snickered. Taravax-7: Just get back here. We’ve got a new lead and Ikora needs Cayde for something. Yuri: How’d you know I was with Cayde? Taravax-7: I didn’t. Now get back here. Taravax-7 closed the feed. Yuri: Well that's no fun. Cayde-6: I’m bettin’ Ikora needs some of my scouts for a reef mission. Her hidden are terrible at scouting in the reef. Yuri: Yeah. We should probably get back. Cayde-6: Hey, next time we do this, I’ve got something awesome to show you. Found a big supply of my flux grenades, and they happen to be in a great position. Yuri: Looking forward to it. Yuri and Cayde-6 flew back to the tower and made their way to the vanguard hall. Taravax-7 and Iris were waiting in the plaza. Cayde-6: Welp, see you around Yuri. Cayde-6 continued to the hall. Iris: We’ve got a new place to explore. Yuri: Do we? Taravax-7: Takanome ridge. We’re hoping to find something pertaining to the sword. Yuri: Takanome? As in the Takanome rangers? Iris: Yep, Shaxx told me about a battle that took place there called “King’s dawn” which was- Yuri: When the rangers almost fell. I know the story, it’s told to just about every new born hunter. A short silence held the group. Yuri: Let’s go. I’ve always wanted to visit the ridge. The fancy scanner ready? Taravax-7: Holiday just moved it to my ship. We can leave whenever we want. Iris: Now seems good. We’re burning daylight, let’s go. The fireteam made their way over to the hanger and got in their ships. They took off for Takanome ridge, hopeful and high spirited.
