Smart loot must be implemented for all loot sources considered "endgame"

Iron Banner, Strike Loot Chests, Exotic Engrams, Raid drops, and Faction packages should all be modified to a smart loot system. Obviously, this has been seen to some degree in Strike Loot Chests with artifacts (you will be almost guaranteed to get one if your artifact is your lowest item), but it simply isn't enough. [b]How it should work[/b] When you receive an item as a reward, the chances of you receiving the same item the next time around significantly decrease, whereas the chances of you getting all other items in the loot pool next time slightly increase. This resets to default each day, except for Raid Gear, which resets each month. Every time your loot is being calculated, the chances of you receiving each type of item should be influenced by the light level of the various pieces of gear you have equipped at the time. I.e. Player with higher light helmet and lower light ghost shell would be vastly more likely to get a ghost shell as a reward. The light level of all legendary or exotic gear you receive will DEFINITELY be: 1) Higher or (if your light level is the max available at the time) the same as your light level. 2) Higher or (if the gear you have equipped in the same slot is the maximum available at the time) the same light level as your currently equipped gear in that same slot. 3) Exotics should be 5 levels higher (up to max light) than either your light level, or the light of the gear you have equipped in the same slot, whichever value is higher. This should make the game more rewarding as hunting for specific items will become more about tenacity than simply relying on RNG, and it would make progression to max light less "grind-y". Also, Crux of Crota will exponentially increase in drop chance every time Crota's End Heroic is completed, because it's nothing more than a joke at this point.

  • I call bullshit on this one, my artifact is 385 everything else 386 i pushed myself down to 383 384 trying to get higher artifact every chest every key I use, max is 385, It forces you to stay at 385 cap yet I have met people who have 387 artifacts no idea how

    • But that would reduce the grind, and that's all this dlc is built to be with its inadequate content.

    • Well thought. It's basically what we had in ttk April update, which was fine for me. I don't understand why this changed in RoI. It penalizes mainly the casual players who struggle to see their Light raise (and so can't access endgame content), when the hardcore players were already max Light before the end of the first week. And about the Crux, please stop the bad joke and make it a guaranteed reward for CE heroic mode completion.
