Light’s Tricon: Taravax-7
RECORD: TEMPLAR’S WELL: 0013
Taravax-7: I am Taravax-7, guardian class-titan, exo male. I am accompanied by my fireteam members: Iris, guardian class-warlock, awoken female and Yuri, guardian class-hunter, human male. I am carrying out a “test”, as one might call it, by order of the warlock vanguard Ikora Rey. Since the first vision I’ve seen here, I have been requested to return and record what I see. This is the third test in a row that I have seen a vision from before. This one was the same as the one from record 0007, description follows. I again stood in the tower and nothing seemed out of place aside from one large statue that stood in the traveler’s watch. It appeared to be a statue of me, holding an unfamiliar sword. When I touched the statue I could only hear fallen howls and metal clanging. I pulled away and turned around to find the sword floating in front of me. If I attempted to walk away, I heard screams that got louder the further away from the sword I got. The vision ends upon me taking up the sword. I searched all our tower records and have so far found nothing that resembles the sword. I will continue the search.
END RECORD: TEMPLAR’S WELL: 0013
Yuri: You finish your diary entry yet?
Iris: If you consider his records to be a diary then you must think the traveler is a tennis ball.
Yuri: *mumbles* Might as well be.
Iris: You should know Ikora and the FWC have reason to believe these records hold visions of the future.
Yuri: Yeah? Wasn’t aware swords could scream or float.
Taravax-7: You’ve clearly forgotten about the time we entered Oryx’s prisons. I know you heard screams from things that were not there.
Yuri: Thought you said the fallen were in your dream, not hive. Fallen can’t play those hive tricks.
Taravax-7: We didn’t think the fallen could bring back the dead, yet we all saw what they did in the iron tomb.
Yuri looked off into the abyss of the Templar’s well. There was a moment of silence.
Taravax-7: Never underestimate something you think you understand. That’s the lesson for today, Yuri.
Yuri: Oh, are you my mentor now?
Taravax-7: Better than Cayde. All I ever see him teaching you is how to play card games.
Yuri: He teaches us while we play. Unlike you, he likes to have fun every now and again.
Taravax-7: I stand true to the ways of a titan. There’s things to get done. disasters that can be prevented by preparing for them today.
Yuri: Please, traveler, stop. I’ve had two too many lectures from you today.
Taravax-7: It’s good for you.
Iris: You're starting to sound like brothers bickering at each other. Come on, let’s get this record back to the tower.
The fireteam left the vault and went to orbit. They landed at the tower and went about their duties. Yuri went over to the hunter den with Cayde-6 and a few other hunters. Iris went off to deliver a copy of Taravax-7’s record to Ikora. Taravax-7 went to deliver his record to Lakshmi-2.
Lakshmi-2: Another repeat? Do you think this will be all?
Taravax-7: I often wonder that myself. I have a theory cooking but it makes me uneasy.
Lakshmi-2: May I hear it?
Taravax-7: I wonder if I’m only being given a set amount of visions to prepare me for something that’s coming. But on that same note, what’s restricting me from seeing more? What’s allowing me to even see the visions I’ve been given? Why do they want me prepared?
Lakshmi-2: Yes, I see why you hold concern. But if it were the vex, what use would they have for you?
Taravax-7: Are the vex ever so simple? I still wish you would just let me use the device.
Lakshmi-2: You may be one of our higher ranking members, but you are too valuable of a guardian to lose. The device is unpredictable and has driven many mad. The Future War Cult would prefer not to lose you.
Taravax-7: Then I will honor your decision. Though I still don’t agree.
Lakshmi-2: That is why we picked you.
Taravax-7: Because I’m a “good little soldier?”
Lakshmi-2: Because you decide whether or not to abide by a border set. Few we have ever recruited have as good a judgement as you. You’ve made calls against our orders before, but those calls ultimately saved lives. You are the epitome of a great guardian. That is why we chose you.
Taravax-7: Yet most others laugh at some battle decisions I’ve made.
Lakshmi-2: Tell me one.
Taravax-7: I once dueled with a captain with swords. Honor is a thing I respect, so I couldn’t say no to a duel. We both went for a killing blow and a titan from behind a bush took the captain’s head off. He came out and said “Guns work better bud. No need to spend an hour trying to kill a savage pirate.”
Lakshmi-2: Such is the way of honor. Those who do not respect it despise those who do. Those who do respect it, must fight on all fronts to keep it.
Taravax-7: Wise words. You don’t hear much of those these days, but at least we know they aren’t gone. I’m gonna go rally the fireteam, see you later Lakshmi.
Lakshmi-2: Safe travels guardian.
Taravax-7 scooped up his weapon and went to go find his fireteam.
