Recently had a raid group break all three of those rules, so here's a post to simply make sure everyone is on the same page. #1. Talking about any of the above only reveals your short-sidedness. Adults do not listen to anything of the sort unless it is by a respectful approach to everyone and even then? Just don't bring it up. There's no reason to and it's a raid/IB match/whatever activity. #2. The reason why you don't bring those topics up? Someone might get offended. Had a player recently decide it was a wise idea to constantly say, "Praise allah" the entire raid. First ten times? One's temper might be ok. Next twenty times? Ok. It's annoying... when you are at the final area and boss fight (Aksis phase 2) and you are sick and tired of hearing that? It's not funny anymore. Listened to it for an hour. Shut it. It's not funny and you aren't on the school yard with your friends around the lunch tables. #3. As stated in #1, why do you need to make those references? They aren't necessary, needlessly make things worse when people can't communicate, and in my particular case? Resulted in me telling a fresh 21 year old (said they were 21 and I'll be honest, they all sounded around that age) and getting booted. No worries. I've got the entire raid memorized and can sherpa another group through, but now you young people can provide a reason for why "adults" get seen in the lfg section. You are way too young to be talking about those sorts of things without any experience. So in closing, yeah, I could have kept a lid on it, but as the older I get? The less patience I have for comments in and around those natures. Don't bring it up, it's not necessary, and it can only lead to worse places and not positive discussion. It's a video game. Treat it as such.
