Dear Bungie, please fix your same LAN issues. we've gotten the multiple router and alternate IP address method that you suggested set up and we still cannot play in the same house hold. i don't mean to be rude but fix your shit Bungie. its been months now and you still haven't fixed it. And to remove any reasonable doubt that this is exlusively our router/home connection, we have tested it on these games; "Paragon, Black Ops 3, Kill Strain, Call of Duty advanced warfare, and NeverWinter. Please for the love of all that is Destiny Fix this!!!!

BUMP! Boy it sure would be nice for me to be able to play Iron Banner with my kids this week. Either enough resources aren't working on this problem, or you need better programmers. Why not just revert to previous network settings? Seriously?

My bf and I had no issues until update 2.3.1, the one about breaking LAN (to accurately describe, in bungies coy, cutesy update titles, the only significant thing to come out of that update as far as i know). None. Then suddenly, issues. And afterward, people said it was my fault? How? If i have no issues one week, then bungie admits to breaking it, and then I'm having issues. How is it my fault? We currently do the "everything at the same time" two to three times. If we can't get that working, usually I rage quit because I have better things to do than play a game I've officially spent 160 dollars on just for myself, for me, not including the 40 worth of in game content ice purchased. Sometimes we find a friend online and can usually join up to their fireteam. This game isn't fun anymore if I can't play with my boyfriend. That was the plan for rise of iron. And now, he often plays alone, or when we play together, it's an hour before we connect to each other, and then our games are full of glitches and holes. I've tried every hot fix. I'm not about to go spend 800 on a new router system just to play one video game. And I'm not kicking him out of my apartment. Bungie doesn't care about us. They take our money, and leave us for shit. I do know this much. If they don't fix LAN on destiny one. I'm not buying destiny 2. Who's with me?

Edited by Phoenix_71: 10/10/2016 9:21:01 PMMy family has 5 people that play Destiny on PS4, and we have encountered this LAN issue since approx September like many others....until today! After Bungie pointed us in the direction of "NAT acceleration" I called Comcast tech support to inquire. Our Comcast router did NOT make use of this feature just fyi. What i learned was that when, (at Comcast request) we picked up our newer dual band router.....we never went beyond the initial setup phase for the router. I feel like an absolute idiot, but internet was working so I never thought to call in before this issue lol. So basically, the router was never properly set up. The way the router was working, it would have never been able to update firmware. The tech support guy took about 15 minutes setting it up, and once it was up and going we had 3 people in our family join up together for the first time in a month! I hope this helps someone, it was our easy fix at least.

Edited by AR IS4 NUBS: 10/10/2016 2:23:09 PMHey NerdyDudeDayton, Bungie is aware of the server/connectivity issues circulating Fireteams and Local/LAN connections. It's not JUST on Bungie's side (back-end servers), it's part User's side. Have you re-configured your home network recently? If not, here are a few links/guides to hopefully help.
UPnP and NAT/Port-forwarding guide. Troubleshooting guide. Try clearing your Cashe as well. Another HOW-TO-OPEN your NAT guide. (it hasn't been updated since 2010 with he new console names. Other than that, it still works).

-QA Test Engineer (a.k.a. AR IS4 NUBS)
We've just solved a way of doing it and it actually works. You need to port forward one of your xbox 's if you want to play on the same local LAN network on destiny. Doing this will change the IP slightly so you both will be running differently

Edited by RAIST5150: 10/8/2016 5:18:59 AMHave you tried disabling the NAT Acceleration option they posted about a few days ago? Was added to the sticky in the help section. 10/4 I think, and was in the News post on 10/6. The option may be labeled differently like Hardware Acceleration. Should be nested in the LAN sections, possibly with switching control options like Jumbo Frames. Your router's documentation about the setting should caution that enabling it may negatively impact routing functions like port forwarding or QoS features.

Bungie moderators!!! I see you responding at other people's help forums!!!!👀 Respond TO US WITH LAN ISSUES!!! If this ever becomes fixed, you should reimburse us all who dealt with the LAN problems with silver. This is beyond ridiculous!!!

This problem needs to be fixed and SOON !! I'm tired of the BS that it's my router or network . it's not it's on your end Bungie, FIX IT !!!!!!!!
-
I had the same issue at my house. i tried bungies help method but no dice. so i logged into my account on my sons ps4 and he logged into his account on my ps4 and low and behold it worked we could join each other. So i then relogged back in on my ps4 and my son on his an it seems to have fixed the problem. I hope this is helpfull to you as i too was pissed off with the lack of help from bungie. give it a go buddy.

Edited by JP Dixon 73: 10/9/2016 4:22:30 PMExtremely disgruntled customer. I like many others having issue where my son and I can't join one another's fireteam. Only reason I purchased game twice was to have this luxury. Before Rise of Iron we never had this issue. It is not a modem issue, it's a Bungie issue. If I log onto my sons Xbox One, and him mine, it works??? If it were an issue with my modem, it wouldn't work at all... Sort it out or I want a refund. This is an official complaint which I expect a proper response to (although I'm not holding my breath).

"Help us help you" Uh, where is this help again? Perhaps off behind the locked door in the tower sharing private time with the "damage referee" that seems to have disappeared before he even started day one of his new job? Bungo is a joke. Not ONE reply to any of the threads seeking help on their "help" forum...pathetic.

I hear you this sucks big time 3 xboxes and we cannot connect to each other since ROI
-
yep i have the same issue 3 xbox and a couple hundred in destiny and no fix disappointing.

Bump I find it unfathomable that a studio has allowed a networking issue like this go unresolved from anywhere between 2-4 months. Basic game functionality should be a priority for upkeep. Destiny is at its core an online MULTIPLAYER game, without the ability for people to play together with friends or family, this game loses the fundamental reason people play it. I play Destiny because it is still one of the best Coop games out there, playing it alone isn't nearly as interesting or fun. This needs to be fixed, and functional 100% of the time. All the patches for loot drops and crucible balances won't count for much if your audience doesn't play your game.
-
This is bungie problem and no one elses..certainly not ours and not the damn Nat acceleration bullshit..no other game I own has this problem
-
So fun haven't played this game since March come back to iron banner and same issues. Have no problem on any other game but this one on connection you guys are terrible. Go to other companies and learn how to.
-
bump same here
-
We've also had the same LAN issues non stop. The only solution we have is restarting everything at once, which sometimes take 4-5 tries (aka 30-40 wasted minutes). I don't have a NAT acceleration setting. I've hooked up two different high end routers. Our NAT is open. Our MTU is set correctly. No problems with any game but Destiny.

Triple bump :( This is getting beyond annoying, we actually had the "turn on all the things at once and do all the things at once" workaround working until a couple of days ago and now we can't join each other at all. Really upsetting all we want to do is play a quick game but i'm losing hope, gave up last night after trying a few times. Lack of communication is really not helping, a one line update every few weeks isn't really enough i'm afraid. Imagine if other businesses treated their customers this way when their product was faulty, it's pretty disgusting stuff. Anyhoo end rant :(
