It's time to end the speculation Bungie. Are our Guardians progressing into D2 or not?

Greeting fellow Guardians and Bungie. So there has been a lot of speculation and rumors the last month on what D2 might be and particularly on the topic of whether or not our characters will progress or the game will be a complete reset. There have been MANY impassioned posts by Guardians who have invested not only their time and money, but themselves into their characters over the last 2 years and Bungie stated at the start of this adventure that we would be progressing over the course of the 10 year journey. Well it's time for the speculation to end and for Bungie to open up and tell us what their plans for our Guardians are. I understand that there are people who are in favor of a fresh start and to that my answer remains the same as it was a month ago. If D2 releases and we can progress our current Guardians, there is nothing stopping you from starting fresh if that is what you would like to do. To Bungie it goes further than that. Since this game has launched there has been an almost pathological inability to communicate with this player base. I've stated and still believe that Cozmo has done a lot to help bridge the colossal divide that initially existed, but it doesn't change the fact that too many things that should have been made clear ahead of time to the players has just been left for "oh sorry" footnotes after dropping bullshit on us. We are here on the forums and we are populating the game worlds because we love the game and at some point one would think that Bungie would show some level of appreciation for the SERIOUS amount of time that players invest in this game. But it doesn't happen. This is an issue from being told weapons will progress and then don't to telling us all our bounties will carry forward "oh, except for those ones we forgot to say won't" But this is a whole different level of bullshit if Bungie are planning on scrapping our characters and aren't telling us. When Bungie decided to start selling things on Eververse and asking players to spend real world money to personalize their Guardians, they sailed that ship of whether we'd keep our characters or not. This goes beyond the THOUSANDS of hours that players have invested into their Guardians and goes directly to the real world money they've put into further making those Guardians their own. I've heard arguments about what Bungie could achieve by making a new engine and starting fresh, but I don't see how that precludes us keeping our characters and their emotes, ships, sparrows and yes even gear and as RWG stated in another post
Either Bungie never intended on carrying our same characters through the 10 years. Or now doesn't know how to because of the things you list. If we are to believe that each time they need to start from scratch because they can't address issues, then what the hell are we all doing leveling up like this for? Buying stuff? Developing our character how we want?
This pretty much sums it up. If Destiny is going to be a Halo/CoD type game going forward where we have a new character each release, then drop the whole WoW progression and constant re-grind and go to static characters and weapons because it's bullshit if it's all temporary. Whichever side of this discussion you fall on, I would hope that everyone would agree that Bungie need to tell us their intentions for our Guardians so we can make the informed decision of what we want to keep investing into them both in-game and with our wallets. Thank you

 • @lost You really need to repost this as often as your comfortable with. I liked the topic but it still reads zero so i think some Bungie SJW are trying to keep your post in the shadows by down voting. You raise a solid solid point. I for one enjoyed the single characterization of the Halo games. But each new Halo I could still take the reins of Master Chief so I was ok with the square one stance. However I AM my Titan. It is a character I created, invested three years of my time, thousands of hours, few hundred dollars and brought from 1 to 40 and have done so much. To lose my Titan just to keep playing at the beat of the drum is very disconcerting. They tout the prospect of being an MMO, I know for a fact there would be insane amounts of outrage if World Of Warcraft wiped their character database and made people relevel from scratch each new release. You don't sell a title "Become Legend" only to force us to drop everything and be normal again and again. If they go this route I will not be able to keep playing. thats why I can't play Rust/ARk or survival games cause you keep losing everything with their server wipes. It ruins why I play games. Starting from scratch over and over is not fun to me. If it's fun to someone then they should just delete their chars and remake not force me to do it.
