Which router is recommended for the most "trouble free" Destiny experience?
I'm on Verizon FIOS and recently "cut the cord" on cable TV. Doing this means I no longer have to use an Actiontech *MOCA router to split the different lines from the fiber... but now I can just use a regular router and handle the data.
While I know many / most issues can be fixed with the Network support guide, I also wouldn't be surprised that Destiny is more.... sensitive to some routers over others. Considering we still get people saying "I'm hard-wired with X setup and still get errors". I've been mostly trouble free for 2 years.
I'm probably leaning towards a Nighthawk or an Asus.
* Yeh MOCA is a pain in the neck. Check DSL Reports... if you wanted to use a nice router AND have TV signal on Verizon FIOS, it was a PitA to setup with some multi-router setup and bridge'ing.

My Asus RT-AC66 has been running like a champ for about two years. Keep the firmware current on it...well, within at least one release of the latest. Don't check it too religiously....maybe every other month or so or if I have long Windows Update cycles on the laptops. Might want to make sure the one you get supports open source firmwares (tomato, Merlin, DD-WRT, etc.). Saw a thread recently where moving to open source resolved that user's local LAN multiple console issue. Could be nice to have that as an option for testing things out down the line.
