Truly I feel sick, I mean I'ma just throw up...! Even in satire, DJTrump makes me wanna scrub the inside of my arshole with a barb wire brush exported from Mexico.

Actually you ought to reflect that question to yourself yet ask, "What aren't the dangers........"?
-
The same question can be asked when considering Clinton. Also, I am by no means suggesting that I want Trump to be president. I just do not want Clinton in office.
-
Edited by bLooM_pHaZe: 10/5/2016 2:43:12 AMTruth be told neither do I, but I'd rather her than him...ANYDAY.
-
I don't want either one of them in office. But I'd rather Trump because he's not smart enough to avoid impeachment. Clinton is.
-
You know that is a rather silly intellectual reason for voting who the president is, no offense.
-
Edited by Wicked: 10/5/2016 3:40:01 AMYes, I realize that my reasoning is ridiculous. But such are the times we live in. IMO anyway. Our country is in a bad way and neither of our current presidential candidates are going to make things any better. If Trump gets elected well probably get nuked by Canada because he can't keep his fat mouth shut. If Clinton gets elected we'll probably end up nuking ourselves because of some kind of internal crisis.

Ha ha ha, that's hilarious matey. Thanks, you made laugh.

Edited by TheArtist: 10/4/2016 7:13:03 PMRealistically? A strengthening and further emboldening of the anti-democratic agenda of right-wing authoritarian elements within the Republican party that election of our first non-white President and the economic meltdown of 2008 unleashed. A movement that some people refer to derisively (and only slightly tongue-in-cheek) as "Neo-Jim Crow". IOWs you have a group of reactionary (mainly) white traditional and cultural conservatives that found a home in the "Tea Party Movement" that are reactionaries who are deeply resentful of the social changes wrought by the 1960s and whose agenda is to drag the country back (by any means necessary ) to a social order of the 1950s, pre-civil rights. Pre-Women's Movement America. These people are scared, angry, and do not see America as a nation of democratic principles....but one that the "rightful property" of white Europeans....and white MALE Europeans in a particular. They see that their losing their struggle to drag the nation back to the 1950s at the Federal level...so they're trying to pervert the democratic process and subvert civil liberties by using the power of Governemt at the State level to attack various "out-groups" that they don't like. IOWs to carve out a country-within-country in the Red States, where the protections of the Constitution only apply to white Christian heterosexuals...and everyone else has to accept some form of second-class citizen status.....ala 1950. So far the Supreme Court and Obama's Justice Dept. has acted as a significant check upon these abuses of the legislative process. But now gives us a Republican Administriation....led by someone who has an impaired ability to empathize with anyone (let alone people different from him) who openly courted these people's support in is bid for power..... ...and suddenly you may be looking at a legislative open-season on every out-group across the Red States, and swing states with Republican state governmnets like Ohio. Where we've (both Democrats in the state legislature and voter referendums) have had to smack down a number of these initiatives over the last 8 years. On the international arena, I fear a return to the sort of thuggish, simple-minded foreign policy that was the trademark of Bush's neo-cons. Which did nothing but exhaust our military in two protracted wars...and tripled the national debt.

There's a pretty big difference between Hitler and Trump, and a hilariously massive difference between pre war Germany and the modern United States. And the potential threat of your example is the reason the 2nd Amendment was created.
-
A difference in degree....and only a slight difference in kind. 1. Germany was in much greater turmoil in 1932 than the US in 2016. 2. Germany had a very weak democracy, and no cultural history of democratic self-rule. 3. Hitler was a sociopath, while Trump is a narcissist. While narcissists tend to be less prone to the sort of aggressive, exploitative (criminal) behavior that sociopaths are....they are still capable of it. Especially if they are motivated by the needs of their narcissm not being met.

-
Could be. Don't know enough about him to be sure. There are a lot of similarities....and some subtle differences between the two. His public life is more consistent with being a Narcissist, than a sociopath....but then we dont' really know all there is to know about his private life. ....and he's being deliberately evasive about those details.
The man is a pathological narcissist.
I think the majority of people could be labeled this......
He's the only person who has run for President since Richard Nixon, where I've looked at the guy and said, "This is someone who we don't dare let near any sort of real power."
1.) You're old 2.) Who are you and why does your opinion mean so much?
The worst I have to worry about Hillary Clinton doing is being corrupt and enriching herself and her friends.
Sounds like a great option! A corrupt snake that looks out for herself. Any other great ideas that you have?
I don't have to worry about her starting a war because she got mad, and mouthed off about something.
Lol, and here is where you show you know nothing of politics or policies....... Ssshhhhhhhhhhh, your idiocy is showing......
-
1. No, most people can't....and a lot of the world's problems are the result of the relatively few people who are. 2. I'm 48, and have been watching politics closely for 40 of those years. My opinion doesn't "matter" more than anyone elses in a democracy. But mine is well-informed, and has the benefit of 4 decades of perspective and life experience. 3. Yep. Don't vote for the guy to whom you and your needs are of no significance and no reality....and who believes that your sole reason for existence is to give him wealth and acclaim. (How a pathological narcissist see himself and the world. Other people are just cardboard cut-outs who exist only to meet his own needs) 4. See, that's where life experience comes in. Its a very sharp sword that cuts through a lot of bullshit. I'm sure people used to think it would be "idiocy" to believe that a President would invade another country and not tell the nation. (Laos). That a President would use the FBI and CIA to investigate and harass his political enemies. That he would abuse the IRS in the same fashion. That a President would keep his own personal goon squad that would carry out various illegal acts on his orders. Culminating in burglarizing the political headquarters of a political rival----in an election race that he was winning at the time----then conspired to cover up the crime. Yet be foolish and paranoid enough to record himself doing it. That a President would actually have to be talked OUT of BOMBING a civilian institution (Brookings Institute) that leaked a document that was personally embarrassing, and frustrated his war policy in Vietnam (The Pentagon Papers.) I'm sure there were lots of people who thought it would be idiocy to think that anyone the American people elected to President would do these things. But, history shows that Richard Nixon did ALL these things and more....and several people who worked under his direct supervision were convicted of FELONIES committed on his behalf. That was what happened the LAST time this country put someone with a major personality disorder in the Oval Office. So no, my "idiocy" isn't showing. What is showing is my knowledge of what sort of human being we're dealing with in Donald Trump.
3. Yep. Don't vote for the guy to whom you and your needs are of no significance and no reality....and who believes that your sole reason for existence is to give him wealth and acclaim. (How a pathological narcissist see himself and the world. Other people are just cardboard cut-outs who exist only to meet his own needs)
Yes and no. My sigularity needs should be of no significance to him since he should be more worried about the majority. Clinton has shown countless times, that she doesn't care for the people who are protecting her (agents, military) with her rash conduct and, of course, benghazi. Not to mention, her getting a reduced sentence for a man who -blam!- a 12 year old girl, and she knew he was guilty. Why did she stay with bill through infidelity if she such a strong woman? To progress in her political career. And you say trump is a pathological narcissist.......
4. See, that's where life experience comes in.
And what of the crimes hillary has already committed?
That was what happened the LAST time this country put someone with a major personality disorder in the Oval Office.
Again, hillary is a crook and yet she is still running. So your experience matters how?
So no, my "idiocy" isn't showing. What is showing is my knowledge of what sort of human being we're dealing with in Donald Trump.
Nope

Edited by TheArtist: 10/4/2016 1:12:01 PMNice try. If you want to analogize Trump to others, stop looking at Hillary. Even if you believe all the things that the political right accuse her of (most of which are meritless) none of adds up to anything other than PETTY malfeasance. OTOH, all the dictators of the world generally fall into one of two categories. They are either psychopaths (Hitler, Stalin, Saddam Hussein) or they are narcissists (the Kim "dynasty" of North Korea). (Nixon probably had Paranoid personality disorder.) There is no "majority" in the mind of a psychopath or a narcissist. THERE IS ONLY "ME"...and what I want....and in the full blown manifestation of their disorder they are very SCARY human beings. Louis XIV's famous outcry "L'estat c'est moi" .....I AM THE STATE!!...is the battle cry of the narcissist who has been given power over others. Or as one friend-of-a-friend who knows him personally once said, "Donald Trump is the nicest guy you'd ever want to me......until the moment you disagree with him." (Until you show him that you are not just an extension of him and his own ego.) ...and you're going to put someone like THAT in a position where its going to be the job of the entire media...and HALF the government to be CONSTANTLY disagreeing with him. Yeah. right.

Even if you believe all the things that the political right accuse her of (most of which are meritless) none of adds up to anything other than PETTY malfeasance.
What I have stated about Clinton is from my own research. Getting a rapist, who you know I'd guilty, a reduced sentence, then stand by her "mirrors" commercial is just sick. Her email scandal, would've got my step sister court marshaled. She was some type of chief in the Navy dealing with classified stuff on occasion. Not petty offenses.......otherwise the people involved wouldn't have continually pled the 5th.......
OTOH, all the dictators of the world generally fall into one of two categories. He is worried about his legacy, so much so that he would do a good job just so he could be known as a good president to continue his legacy. Either that or burn everything. But at least with him we have a 50/50 chance.
Louis XIV's famous outcry "L'estat c'est moi" .....I AM THE STATE!!...is the battle cry of the narcissist who has been given power over others. Wow. Don't get it. But then there are always people who don't. Talk about arguing over deck chairs on the Titanic.

Just for you sport http://lawnewz.com/high-profile/sexual-assault-victim-slams-hillary-clinton-for-defending-attacker-and-laughing-about-case/ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vHGPbl-werw Gotta love the hypocrisy!

Deck chairs. Titanic.

Some people really can't see logic...!
-
I guess seeing that Clinton is out for her own personal gain was too much for you. So I ask again, with the evidence I have provided, and with hillary staying with bill during the adultery, how can you say she is not for herself? She spouts off about being a strong woman, yet has done nothing to show it.
-
Did you not read a damn thing I wrote? I've already STIPULATED to the fact that she is. I'm not blind, and I haven't lived under a rock for the last 25 years. So I'm VERY familiar with the public lives of both. Hillary Clinton is your typical venal politician. The poster child for Baby Boom ambition in a pantsuit. Mixed with greed. Yet knowing and accepting this, I still wouldn't vote for Trump, even if he were the Democratic nominee and not Hillary. Because as corrupt and venal as she is, her capacity for corruption has LIMITS. That is NOT the case when you give a person with sort of psychopathology that Trump suffers from REAL power. History has show that the result is often some of the most outrageous crimes against humanity. The man is damaged to the point that he is a threat to democracy itself. Just like Richard Nixon and his inner demons were.
-
It's ok if you can't address the topic at hand with pointless ramble.........but what's really funny, you're too focused on trump to see it. Must be the old age........
-
Edited by TheArtist: 10/4/2016 1:49:12 PMI am addressing the issue. But there can be no reasonable discourse with someone who fails to grasp the difference between, petty personal corruption.... ....and a teperment and pattern of behavior that is a threat to democratic government itself. With someone who puts partisanship above the welfare of our very system of self-government. It's sad to see how far the Right has fallen. When it was clear that Nixon was acting more like a dictator than a President, Republicans stepped up, put Country First and forced Nixon to resign. Today. All they do is make excuses and act like schoolyard bullies that never grew up.
