With many players wanting old raids to make a comeback. I thought I would try to make my own idea for the Vault of Glass. I know many people would rather just have the current Vault of Glass brought up to Rise of Iron light levels, but Bungie has stated numerous times that if old raids are to come back, they need a logical reason as to why. It is my hope that you, the reader, will accept this idea and my dream to have Bungie actually implement it.
Theme:
The devil splicers are reeling from their defeat in Wrath of The Machine. The splicers are looking for a way to bounce back and they find it from a transmission from the desperate House of Winter on Venus. House Winter has seen what Skolas the Wolf Kell could do with vex technology. House Winter has also heard that SIVA could save their house from extinction. Winter is willing to trade this knowledge of vex technology for SIVA. The Devils and Winter form an alliance and make their base within the now shattered Vault of Glass.
Encounters:
Your fireteam needs to open the door. This is done exactly how you remember, only now splicer dregs and vandals are in your way. Major servitors replace the praetorians.
Continuing on to the Templars Well, your fireteam will meet the first boss: Simiks Prime, brought back through time and enhanced by SIVA. The first thing your fireteam must do is defend the confluxes from hoards of shanks. You will also need to deal with SIVA infested dregs, they act the same way the fanatics did. If you get infested by one of the dregs you can cleanse yourself in the middle. If you don't get cleansed, Simiks will purge you. Once you have defended the confluxes, you have complete the oracles. These act the same way they did in the OG VoG only its splicer fallen themed. Onto Simiks itself. Simiks will behave the same way the Templar did. You will use a SIVA charged aegis, (the shield) to take down Simiks' shield and deal damage to it. Rinse and repeat and you get your loot for beating it.
Moving onto the Gorgon's Maze, you will notice that the gorgons have been replaced by atomic shanks that will nuke the place if they spot you, resulting in a wipe. You can the shanks by focusing fire on them, but they will get stronger and stronger as you kill more and more of them. Proceed to the jumping puzzle which is unchanged and you will find yourself at the shattered vault. The room where you fight Atheon is darker and the white glass at the very back has been blackened with the red glow of SIVA visible in the gaps.
Your fireteam will kill the large ultra servitor in the middle to allow activation of the portals. This time the portals bring you to a copy of the boss room on past and future versions of the Eliksni homeworld. The past version has the Traveler visible in the distance while the future version is ravaged and abandoned. Get the aegis shield dropped from the servitors in each of the portals and defend the confluxes once more.
Now for the final boss. Solkis the Devil Kell, brought back through time and enhanced by SIVA. This fight will go exactly like Atheon did. Just remember to shoot the boss in the head and not in the chest! Exploder shanks will replace the supplicants. Once Solkis is defeated, you don't receive your loot immediately. The Vault will begin collapse and you will need to escape before it fully collapses in 2 minutes. Complete a simple jumping puzzle and you will find yourself at the base of the Vex citadel. Go up the lift, enjoy the view and collect your loot from the chest, rewarding you the Superblack shader upon your first completion. If you wipe on the escape, don't worry, you have checkpoint back at the start of the collapse. But be warned! If you go to orbit during the escape, you will need to defeat Solkis again!
Loot:
Loot should be nearly the same as the old Vault of Glass loot brought up to Rise of Iron light. Except now the weapons are corrupted by SIVA and have gained a new perk for each weapon, even the primaries. Triple Rainbow. Weapons with this perk now shoot random elemental bullets. I can see Atheons Epilogue being used for parties :p. Fatebringer gets the exotic treatment with the ability to choose what element it fires. Fatebringer is rewarded by defeating Simiks Prime without having it teleport. The Vex Mythoclast is also back in black and is now called the SIVA Ionoclast, it too has the ability choose what element it fires and has options for better range, stability, or a balanced mix between the two. The Ionoclast is rewarded to raid groups that did not wipe at all. A weapon for the true best of the best.
That's all I have come up with. Let me hear your suggestions and constructive criticism. Let's make this a community built experience!
