I was playing Archon's forge to think about something else, because my great-grandmother died today (she was age 92 if you were wondering) and my first legendary drop was this sniper.
I don't know if it was a message from heaven or something because this weapon name ("But not forgotten") and description ("Not even the dead are truly gone.") really fits with what happened to me today. She is gone, but she will never be forgotten in my heart, RIP my great grandmother, this weapon is going to represent you to me, a memory of who you were.
Thanks a lot Bungie for creating a beautiful and unique sniper that you probably didn't expect someone to give it such a significance to it. Coincidences can make really beautiful things, and today, it proved to me that it can happen.
TL;DR I got a sniper that really fits with the death of a relative of mine. RIP to my grand-grandmother.
If you want to cheer me up, go ahead, I really want this community to stick together and help eachother in the moments where it matters the most, also, this isn't a post where I just wrote just so I get your empathy to me, as I said, I just wanted to talk about what this weapon is going to mean to me.
Edit: Added the description of the weapon and fixed a typo.
Edit #2: Thanks for the support, you've been giving to me, it's not really easy to me right now and it makes me happy to see all of you caring about a fellow guardian. I wasn't expecting much about it tbh. I will add a clarification as for why I used the word "heaven" in the text, it is because of the religious belief of her and I respect what she believed in, if it was any other religion, I would've used the word representing a "good place after one's life" for the proper religion of said person.
Edit #3: Over 500 replies! Wow, that's just amazing, it makes me feel better to know that you can care about something like this so much. I thank each and everyone of you who replied with a positive comment. I hope this story will make you think how deep connections can happen, and to everyone living in a situation similar to me, I say "Keep your head up and stay stong, even with what you're living through.". Finally, it makes me happy to know that some people pretty much gave this weapon a significance close to mine, in honor of a close relative who passed away recently.
Edit #4 (probably last one): Over 1000 replies! I never thought it would go up that high, I'm used to normally 10 or so replies maximum, but this, this is just amazing! Thank you again for the support you've been giving me, it really makes a difference and I'm happy to know that you do help me, even though we don't even know eachother at all. That's what's awesome about this community.

I don't want to be mean, but people need to learn to accept death without these convoluted and insane fantasies. Some might say "well what does it hurt" and the answer is the entire human race.

Sorry for your loss
-
First off, I'm sorry for your loss and any pain you may be going through. All of us had or will go through that same experience sooner or later. I think it's really cool that the sniper dropped for you at this time. Coincidences can really be a crazy thing. Anyway, I don't really have a comment to say. I just felt like I should send my regards.
-
No disrespect and sorry for your loss but may I venture a guess in that you're a fan of fortune cookies and astrology too?
-
I was about to go and comment about I hate these type of posts but I decided to read it and that's really neat

Love and pixel light, dear Guardian. Now she can watch you from the stars.

Sorry about your loss guardian. Glad you took the time to post this.

I love this gun. Thought sights would make it weird but like them
-
And now you're going to kill people using that gun
-
Sorry to hear that but I'd say 92 was a good run. My older brother, age 39, was killed in a car accident Tuesday morning and I've had two stress releivers, talking to my wife and playing Destiny. I pulled that gun last night and thought the same thing. Fight the good fight gaurdians.

I'm sorry hear about your grandma man. Hope things will get better ✌🏻️

Hey man thanks for the great story went right to my heart see God use even a video game to show is comfort to his sons and daughters

Even the smallest things can change an attitude and grief. I'm sorry for your loss. Loosing family is always hard and sometimes things happen whether large or small and if that's your belief good for you. Believe in something other than yourself and share it with others. Haters will hate and idiots will always try to persuade you otherwise. Keep your faith !

She's with RNGesus now
