I was playing Archon's forge to think about something else, because my great-grandmother died today (she was age 92 if you were wondering) and my first legendary drop was this sniper.
I don't know if it was a message from heaven or something because this weapon name ("But not forgotten") and description ("Not even the dead are truly gone.") really fits with what happened to me today. She is gone, but she will never be forgotten in my heart, RIP my great grandmother, this weapon is going to represent you to me, a memory of who you were.
Thanks a lot Bungie for creating a beautiful and unique sniper that you probably didn't expect someone to give it such a significance to it. Coincidences can make really beautiful things, and today, it proved to me that it can happen.
TL;DR I got a sniper that really fits with the death of a relative of mine. RIP to my grand-grandmother.
If you want to cheer me up, go ahead, I really want this community to stick together and help eachother in the moments where it matters the most, also, this isn't a post where I just wrote just so I get your empathy to me, as I said, I just wanted to talk about what this weapon is going to mean to me.
Edit: Added the description of the weapon and fixed a typo.
Edit #2: Thanks for the support, you've been giving to me, it's not really easy to me right now and it makes me happy to see all of you caring about a fellow guardian. I wasn't expecting much about it tbh. I will add a clarification as for why I used the word "heaven" in the text, it is because of the religious belief of her and I respect what she believed in, if it was any other religion, I would've used the word representing a "good place after one's life" for the proper religion of said person.
Edit #3: Over 500 replies! Wow, that's just amazing, it makes me feel better to know that you can care about something like this so much. I thank each and everyone of you who replied with a positive comment. I hope this story will make you think how deep connections can happen, and to everyone living in a situation similar to me, I say "Keep your head up and stay stong, even with what you're living through.". Finally, it makes me happy to know that some people pretty much gave this weapon a significance close to mine, in honor of a close relative who passed away recently.
Edit #4 (probably last one): Over 1000 replies! I never thought it would go up that high, I'm used to normally 10 or so replies maximum, but this, this is just amazing! Thank you again for the support you've been giving me, it really makes a difference and I'm happy to know that you do help me, even though we don't even know eachother at all. That's what's awesome about this community.

Edited by Red Right Hand: 10/1/2016 1:33:37 PMMagic is in the eye of the beholder, mate. Don't mean to dismiss what happened to you. Simply saying that stuff like that probably happens to you or around you all the time. You just never pay attention because, you know... modern life on autopilot. I guess what I'm really trying to say is you find poetry in life when you look for it. Condolences.

and people say there is no God and no Creator......

Sorry about the death of your relative, but get a life. She must've been a strong woman and experienced a lot of things. Don't associate life with this digital bollocks. Young people today are pondlife.

I'm very sorry for you

Death reminds us of how fragile life truly is. I hope she lived a happy and fulfilling life. Learn from the examples she's given while she lived and enjoy your life to the fullest.
-
but son there is a Heaven and there is only one way to get there. Your great-grandmother has shown you the only way. The rest all lead to eternal death.

Those who remember will be scarred for life. Those who are dead are at peace.

Anyone know where I can get the legendary 'overworked, underpaid, 2 kids and wife' shotgun.....,

She was old, it happens, way of life

I am sorry for your loss. Cherish those coincidences, sometimes they appear to be random but if you look closer, you'd be surprised. Remember that she can now see you anywhere you go. Make her proud

Beautiful thought .... So sorry for your loss, hold your head up <3

Sorry for your loss

A good friend of mine died a week before this damn expansion. I pulled that a week later, on the same day, at the same time he died that night a week earlier. Sorry for your loss man, but this game has some weird shit about it sometimes. Things worth explaining.

My grandfather was just diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, so if I get this weapon, I'll hold onto it as a tribute to him.

I don't want to be mean, but people need to learn to accept death without these convoluted and insane fantasies. Some might say "well what does it hurt" and the answer is the entire human race.
